I personally wouldn't do it, but this is a great mod for the Z owner on a budget. It really does makes the car sound better than stock. Not everyone has the means or commitment to pay for a premium exhaust. Besides, it's not like they're putting Volk stickers on Varrstoens.
EDIT: With that said, please don't ever compare this to an Formula 1 exhaust. They're not even in the same universe.

Today just for fun I did the washer mod just to hear it. I think it sounds pretty good and didn't feel any loss in power. I'm reluctant to remove it now because I like how it sounds. I'm still concerned with heat damaging components around the exhaust. Does anyone think that it will cause any damage? Should I leave it or bring it back to stock?

I don't see much of a difference in sound between this and a muffler delete. I'd say it was a $20 alternative to a muffler delete, not a full cat back. OP, if you're happy with it, more power to you. But you're the one who put this out on the internet inviting criticism and opinions. Don't lose your **** because some people don't like it. As long as you like it, that's all that matters.
As a FI exhaust owner, there is no comparison in sound at all. Maybe if you're just listening to youtube videos. Not in person. Nowhere close.

I know some of you are being "creative" for this 14 dollar masterpiece but my question is how the hell do you buy a 30,000 dollar car and yet to cheap to dish out around 600 for used up to 1200 for new for a exhaust that will give you no issues.
Like I said I think it is creative but my *** would never do something that may one day harm a 30 grand car.

It gets better the more time u got in. I remember making 400 every 2 weeks. But being 18 and back in 03 that was enough to live on.
