Default Exhaust confusion

I have a 2013 370z and I just purchased a hks hi power ti dual exhaust. I called Hks performance and the representative said that it would fit properly with removal of the emission canister shield. A different site that I was looking into said tha t the part wouldn't fit on my car at all. Hks USA said it is good from 2008-present years, and thmotorsports said that it wouldn't fit my 2013 z at all. Upon looking into this problem I noticed that my y pipe was 2 separate pieces, while other members on the forum with the exact exhaust had a 1 piece y pipe. Total confusion.

Don't know if it helps but my Z is a 2011 and I had a full Motordyne CBE that I sold to a guy with a 2013 Z. To my knowledge he didn't have any fitment problems. I know it isn't an HKS but they are similar in design.

It has been raining by me a lot lately but I'm not sure why my y pipe is two pieces with 2 different gaskets on each side when the other member I saw with it had it welded together from the factory, even though I ordered the same one, unless there was a mistake in the shipping

Is that possibly an updated version. Maybe other people with the HKS can chime in.

That's a pic from my thread.

I know that HKS revised the Hi-Power exhaust at one point, due to midpipe clearance issues. It used to touch the crossmember ever so slightly. I'm not sure what version I have, but it fits fine.

As for the emissions canister black shield thing, I removed that altogether and have driven 18k trouble free miles.

I did steal it from ur thread
I wanted to clarify before I started screwing with it in case I had to return it. I'm not sure if part of the exhaust is missing or not. It only came with one gasket but I doubt they are supposed to be connected like yours is

Thanks Mcp did you have any problems with the install?? And do the y pipes get connected with the one gasket that it comes with, or is there a pipe that goes between.

I just got the same HKS exhaust for my 2013 peanuthead and it looks just like yours. tH motorsports assured me that it would fit the 13 model, they supposedly called there rep to verify that it would fit my car.

Did u throw it on yet? It has been pouring by me lately and I'd rather do it myself then have a shop do it. But thanks for the good news

I have a 13 model also, and as far as I know the 13 don't come with the shield. I'm assuming your talking about the one in the back of the car for the muffler clearance. This is what mine look like.

I have a 2012 sport touring and it fit perfectly. I had no canister shield to deal with. Only suggestion, when you start to do the final tightening of all the bolts tighten the crossover pipe first. I went front to back and the only slight leak I had was from the H pipe. I wound up adding an additional gasket to ensure it was sealed.
