Those with the G3 intake....rain?

Ever notice military vehicles like H1's have the air cleaner exposed to the environment , like on an elevated stack at roof heigh to keep it out if standing water?

Ever notice military vehicles like H1's have the air cleaner exposed to the environment , like on an elevated stack at roof heigh to keep it out if standing water? Any rain rain water that gets in has a direct gravity feed into the engine, but you never hear about problems with that type of intake.
