Sorry for bumping an old thread.

There are a couple reasons to go with resonated, one is to reduce sound and the other is to possibly fool an inspector. The non-resonated pipes add a slightly more aggressive exhaust note and a raspiness between 3-4k rpm. Some people want everything to sound stock or as close to it as possible. Others want it as loud as they can get it. Everyone has different style and a different opinion.

Exhausts tastes vary widely, I recommend you ride along in some other cars with different exhaust setups to see what fits you best. If that's not possible, try youtube and try to find the ones that aren't badly distorted. Most of those videos are a pretty good representation of the product.
