I want to keep those bad boys looking like new!

I wash the whole canister and tips with the same car wash soap that I use on the car. Then once there dry I use normal car wax to shine them up... Looks sick, try it.

just question on your long tube headers, if you get the headers do they replace the mid pipes or would you need those as well?

The headers bold up to the midpipes, they only remove the stock (short) headers and the cats. The mid-pipes stay the same. So if you keep your stock exhaust, the headers will bolt up to the Y-Pipe. If you get the F.I. or another aftermarket exhaust, they will bolt up to the mid pipes or crosspipes depending...

Here's an undercar shot showing the headers/midpipes.

To wash it is just fine. But make sure that you do not spray water directly into the tips.

Stupid question but what would happen if you spray water into the pipes?

It will sit inside the cannisters and slowly rot out the fiberglass filling/rust out the inside of the cans. Basically creating loose material that will sound like rocks inside an aluminium can. I've had it happen before on a lesser quality exhaust. It's not a good sound. Imagine dragging a few coke cans behind your car and thats what it sounds like.

A little bit is okay because it will evaporate off, just don't directly shoot a spray down the pipe...
