In temperate climates sure... but when people say 'Hey guys, its 105* out so get your sweaters"... not joking, yeeeeah lol. Buffing SS isn't my type of pasttime lol

I'm torn between the CF and SS mufflers. What do you guys think about either option on a pearl white Z? Personally, I feel that CF is mostly for aesthetics since they're only a 6lb. weight reduction, but how well can they really be seen in the dark shadow of the car's undercarriage?

Hey 6lbs is 6lbs, may as well do it. It's not much, but every little bit adds up. On a daily-driver street car, it's hard to find places to shed weight without compromising things you care about.

I went with the CF cans with my Black Z. Keep her dark and stealthy. Go CF.

I think either CF or SS will look great regardless of color. It's definitely "cool" to have CF mufflers as well.

For me, it's all about durability. If for whatever reason you were to hit the canister on something the SS will bend whereas the CF could crack/shatter.

Hhmm:yum::yum::drool::drool: CF. A quick ? for Tony, having not seeing this in the flesh as of yet, would it be possible to replace the CF part if it got cracked real badly at all.

m4a1mustang 09-03-2009 11:40 PM

I know I'm not Tony, but my guess is if the CF cracked it'd be most cost-effective to replace the entire muffler. You'd probably have to buy one from Tony and then have it welded in place of the cracked one. :)

I'm on schedule for the 14th-21st. My birthday is the 18th! C'mon, Tony, work your magic! Let's get it to me by the 18th so I can make that a double-header weekend. We're having exhaust installed on my gf's car that morning and I'd love to be able to come home and install mine!

Work it, baby! :D
