I get pulled over all the time, but I play the smart way... grab someone to remove the heat shield from the oem cat... weld it on to the Test Pipes... bam! you're done... this is what I do.. and trust me I get pulled over more than once in a week. |
I did just that with my old Mustang... welded gutted cats around my off-road X-pipe. I've grown up a little since then. :)
This is my DD... I'm running cats. |

I've got a 7AT and I'm also getting the F.I. exhaust with 18" resonators, but without the CF mufflers and with HFCs. Do you also have HFCs? Do you notice much of a difference in pick up? |
The car in that vid has HFCs and Headers.
Anyways, I called Tony using the Bluetooth in my Z and added HFCs to my order. :D |
I'm torn between the CF and SS mufflers. What do you guys think about either option on a pearl white Z? Personally, I feel that CF is mostly for aesthetics since they're only a 6lb. weight reduction, but how well can they really be seen in the dark shadow of the car's undercarriage?
|
Ugh... as if I couldnt  anymore over this exhaust. I LOVE the way that sounds, I just wish I could find someone with the same setup you have, but 12" res's just for comparrison. But hell, as it stands right now, thats what it's looking to be for me. HFC's 18" Res' with the CF cannisters just cause I think it will look good with the Black Z, or anyone prefer the SS ones on a Black Z?

For me, it's all about durability. If for whatever reason you were to hit the canister on something the SS will bend whereas the CF could crack/shatter. |
Very True... I just hate that even though things are SS, they still eventually start to rust in places... I really dont have the time/ weather here to lift the car every week to wipe it down...
|
I wouldn't be worried about rust at all. It shouldn't be too hard to crawl under there and clean/polish the canisters once every couple of weeks. :)
