You are correct! At least on the 350Z/G35 Intimidator applications.

The NEW Fast Intentions website will be launched real soon, HOPEFULLY!

Full ecommerce package, flash and media. It has been long overdue but all of the information on every product will be listed and it will be very easy to navigate.

F.I. Inc. 08-27-2009 10:41 AM

Update- Bezzita 027 bailed out, he actually is still buying the cats but he ended up buying our cat back from GNZ brand new. GNZ is getting rid of the car so obviously he does not need the exhaust. GNZ, good luck in Kuwait and stay safe my friend. We appreciate your service to this country!

Just an UPDATE: After having the Fast Intentions exhaust and HF cats installed for about 2 weeks, I have gained 1.5-2.0 MPG on my AVERAGE fuel economy! I am now at about 23.5 MPG average, whereas before I was at about 21.8.

My testing procedure was as follows: At the beginning of each work week I reset my average fuel economy and then drive to work/gym/supermarket/etc. as normal. At the end of the week (5 days), I simply record the average MPG. My commute to work and daily driving habits are very consistent during the work week.

During the first 2 weeks BEFORE the exhaust/HFC install I recorded just around 21.8 each week. For the 2 weeks AFTER the install, I recorded about 23.5 MPG average. Since the install was done on a Saturday, I was able to put a good 100 miles or so on my car so the ECU could "adapt" to the new modifications before I started the MPG test.

Awesome.

lol excited or what?

I got mine installed. Details over in my journal thread starting on pg 19 or so. The short version: I've got Stillen headers and Berk HFCs, which of course raises some fitment issues. Luckily everything worked out fine under the car with crossmember/swaybar clearance, etc. The tips came out slightly too high, so I spaced down the rear exhaust hanger mounts with some washers to correct it. Initial impressions are great, but I wanna let it burn in for a day or two and test it more, and then more details, information, videos, and pics will be coming on Saturday. This is about all you get for now - this is a pic when the car was still on jackstands in my garage, before I fixed the fitment of the tips:

^what are ur driving impressions after installing the exhaust + hfc VS. Stock? Any detailed reviews would be great, thanks

ZForce 08-27-2009 10:23 PM

Thanks for posting up the teaser pic. Can't wait for the video.

Zat_Zuma 08-28-2009 07:45 AM

Update: Exhaust installed and is music to my ears again.
The 18" resonators are just perfect with the HFC's

Well done Tony

The only suggestion I have is to install the FI HFC's with the FI exhaust. There was a minor fitment issue with the Berk HFC's flanges and the FI exhaust. I'm sure the fitment would be better with using Fast Intentions HFC's and exhaust.

Detailed review coming Saturday along with everything else :) But note that I don't have any "vs stock" comparisons. My previous exhaust setup for the past several thousand miles was Stillen headers, Berk HFCs, and a slightly broken Stillen catback, which was swapped for this FI catback with 18" resonators and CF mufflers.

But for now I will say: I did finally get on the throttle in the upper revs with it last night, and the sound is awesome :) The power is at least on par with where I was at, but butt dynos aren't precise enough to tell the difference between two different well-flowing catbacks honestly.

My only "issue" so far is that my car is being pretty droney on the inside at low RPMs under load (like, cruising in high gear at 2kpm and then giving it a bit of gas without changing gears).

I don't think this is inherent in the exhaust (as in, others probably won't hear the same thing on their cars). I think it has to do with the current configuration of my trunk area, which is basically acting like a big drum / echo chamber. The spare and subwoofer are gone, as is the stand-off heat shield underneath, and I currently have the foam parts and the cover board and carpets re-installed on top. So basically where most people's spare/sub are, I have a big empty hole acting like an echo chamber, and the trunk floor is just one thin sheet of bare metal between the echo chamber and the mufflers :)

I'm adding some Dynamat to the floor metal of the trunk today or tomorrow, which should help clear that up. If that doesn't do enough, I may add some lightweight filler where the spare was just to kill the echo chamber (like a bag of foam pieces or something).

FuszNissan 08-28-2009 10:13 AM

I must say I am very pleased with the exhaust. Sounds soooo deep. Makes the HFC's + stock exhaust combo seem terrible sounding. HFC+18" res. plenty loud! This exhaust is a beast. Also Tony, pass on to whoever did the welds, they are amazing.

Can't wait to see/hear video as I too have an automatic. Curious to find out if any difference in sound vs. a stick.

Any fitment issues with Berk HFCs, like mentioned above?

dainedazz 08-28-2009 01:19 PM

hey guys i gotta question for the people that purchased these already,

the exhaust came like 4-5 weeks from the time u ordered it right?
and about how many weeks did it take till u saw the charge from your card for the exhaust?

i'm calculating the dates my pay checks come & timing it so i can order the exhaust in advance and get charged for it when my money is in the bank!

thanks

FuszNissan 08-28-2009 01:29 PM

The day they ship the charged goes through. Took about 6 weeks to get the exhaust.

Semtex thinks it's probably mainly the fault of the Stillen Headers, rather than the Berk HFCs. He had Berk HFCs with stock manifolds first and didn't have a big issue, but after putting the Stillen headers on his car, the outlet of the HFCs appeared to be lower than it should be. Also, there are a lot more cars on this board running the Berk HFCs than there are the Stillen headers, so we'd probably have heard more about it by now if they were causing fit issues with various catbacks.

In my personal case, the Stillen headers and Berk HFCs went on at the same time (before any other exhaust stuff), and I've had no end of problems with catbacks since, although at least with the FI catback they left so much clearance in the center of the car with their design that the issues were trivial.

FuszNissan 08-28-2009 01:54 PM

I have Berk HFC's and no fitment issues at all. I know a lot of people have issues with the stillen headers matching up with the HFC's.

dainedazz 08-28-2009 01:57 PM

its the headers causing it. i read on other threads that people had fitment problems with stillen headers + berks hfc.

imo, stick with FI ;)

Well us early adopters didn't have a choice, it was Stillen or stock, so we gave the Stillen ones a shot :) My Stillen headers and Berk HFCs went on the car back in mid-March.

dainedazz 08-28-2009 04:44 PM

I myself was interested & VERY TEMPTED to get the stillen cbe with the berks HFC when they first came out. they sounded very good to me and gave good gains! but something inside me made me wait for a few more months to see what other companies come out with.

i'm glad i waited it out :)

now im curious to see this long tube header by Tony!

Ok I just had to mention this. I've had my car since sometime in February, and I started modding it right off the bat, so it's had a non-stock exhaust most of that time too. I've had lots of stares and longing looks, but I've never had a random person actually stop and comment on my car before.

When I pulled into my garage just now, on day 2 with the FI exhaust, a neighbor was out walking his dog close by, and actually walked over to my garage just to tell me that my car sounds so great :)

m4a1mustang 08-28-2009 09:43 PM

Man I hope I can get mine the weekend of my birthday!

ZForce 08-28-2009 10:14 PM

Geez....I also had very little choices when I picked up my PG in mid March. Nismo CBE went on right away.....what a fail with that choice....It does not even sound any better than the stock exhaust. The worst part of it is that I will prolly never be able to sell it for a down payment on a FI exhaust.

Know any grandpas that just purchased a 370Z that wants the larger exhaust tip look.....lol

I can only "dream on".
