Tony will no resonators and CF mufflers cause the interior to vibrate and rattle like that? I will have stock cats.. i know there should be a big diff between the high flow and stock ones.

If it was my car I would shy away from the straight X Pipe. I am not in my late teens or early twentys anymore! I want it on the quieter side. I would recommend at lest the 12" resonators. If you are weary about the noise level then I would not even chance it with the straight X Pipe. Those resonators work wonders and the Carbon Fiber is just going to make it a little louder.

If I had my ideal set up it would be HFC's W/the 18" resonators and the stainless mufflers. That is just my 2 cents though...

Thanks, Tony

Daishi 08-10-2009 09:12 AM

yea i understand tony im gonna try it out see what happens if anything ill just swap x pipes like you said. i hear people on the forums all the time saying something is LOUD then when i hear it its really not.. im sure it will be fine.. wont compare to an s2000 with test pipe and invidia exhaust lol and thats still tolerable for me. im 21. tony as long as the exhaust isnt raspy thats what i dont want.

This is partially my fault! Back when you purchased the system in April I had no idea that you had aftermarket cats or what our system would even sound like. Once it was prototyped I always made sure I made the recommendation to have the 18" resonators with anything aside of high flow cats. The 18" will cut it down quite a bit and I am confident it will satisfy you...

Thanks, Tony

No problem, Tony! The exhaust is definitely sick sounding and I've not heard any negative comments, but the loudness is too much for me haha (cmon... gotta hear the new sub I put in last night). So for those who want a wicked sound, you can't go wrong with Tony's exhaust design. The rumble at idle sounds amazing.

That night, some guy with a Malibu with hyperwhite headlights chased my tail in traffic. He tried to get my attention, but there was an SUV in the front of me. Once the SUV turned turned, I drove past him at half throttle to 4k RPM to unleash the fury of the exhaust sound. Guess he started driving civil afterwards. :rofl2:

m4a1mustang 08-10-2009 09:22 AM

I got to hear a car with HFCs and Altered Atmosphere Catback and another with HFCs and Stillen CBE this weekend and thought both were pretty tame at idle/cruising and weren't crazy loud at WOT.

So I'm really torn as to whether I want 12" or 18" resonators.

Same here  Stock cats, 18" resonators and CF mufflers for me when the time comes.

kdo2milger 08-10-2009 03:41 PM

Oooo...guess that means I'm 5th now :ugh2:

phelan 08-10-2009 04:47 PM

Woohoo! Let's do this :excited:

And from the looks of things, the 18" will be the proper call for me. I prefer my exhausts to be a little tame.

Sonic370Z 08-10-2009 07:57 PM

Thanks again for the help Tony! Order #023! :D

Tony was really helpful in recommending the 18" resonators to me as well. Something a little deeper and quieter, and perfect if I decide to upgrade to HFC's later on.

m4a1mustang 08-10-2009 08:37 PM

Did you see his wreck yesterday after Kasey Kahne pushed Sam Hornish into the tire barrier? Crazy.

Completely agree. When I spoke with him on the phone I told him my concerns, what I was looking for and he made recommendations that were best for me.

Tony joked that I will be thanking him once I'm not stuck sleeping on the couch. My wife wasn't wild about me spending too much money, or getting something too loud. He said for my sake, just go with exhaust and 18" res for now and if I still want a little more growl to give him a shout. Keep the wife happy. Hahaha.

Same thing for me, buddy. I told him I was going to go for HFCs and the 18" resonators and instead of saying OK and taking down my payment info, he asked a lot of questions to figure out if that was what I really wanted. He ended up saving me money by recommending just the 18" CBE to start and like you said to give him a call if I wanted louder. VERY satisfied with the level of customer service at Fast Intentions.

Does ordering and having the exhaust shipped vs in house instal affect the build time/order?

it seems to somewhat since Kolya had his installed at the shop and mine is still being built. i'm number 7 and he is 9. im sure it has to do with a projected time Tony thought he would be to that one and already had him scheduled

dainedazz 08-11-2009 02:23 PM

woot woot woot! NEXT MONTH i SHALL be added to that list! :D :D :D :D :D

Yeah it's really not a big deal. People coming in for installs have to be scheduled, so that puts some constraints on things, and some of us mail-order folks get bumped a little.

XwChriswX 08-11-2009 03:14 PM

Only reason I ask is cause it's not that far away (6hrs-ish) so I was debating whether to order it and have Intense Power (Phoenix Local) Install it here, or set up an install date on a Sat and drive out to F.I. for the install there...

Sonic370Z 08-11-2009 03:56 PM

I'm only 2,200 miles away. I can get there in about a day and a half (32 hours or so) if I take a buddy and we rotate shifts. The 2,200 miles on the way back home will give me plenty of time to break her in. Maybe I'll stop by Vegas or the Grand Canyon on my way back home, lolz. :D

XwChriswX 08-11-2009 03:57 PM

That's similar to my plan to get to AAM for the TT kit lol. I'm thinkin roadtrip/ Z cruise.

Sweet! Now if UPS could magically get it here in less than the usual week!

Sonic370Z 08-12-2009 08:32 PM

congrats man! let me know if you're in the Hamburg or UK campus area, I'd definately like to check it out when you get it. you went with the 12" right? I went 18" for now as I will more than likely go with the HFC's down the road. congrats again!

ZforMe 08-12-2009 09:11 PM

Anybody have any home vids of their exhaust installed? My girlfriend put me on hold till our bonuses come in October. I need something to hold me over till then.

ZiGMoN 08-13-2009 02:04 PM

Had my Polished Stainless CBE (w/ 12" resonators) installed last Friday, and I have to admit, it was money well spent.

The Install was mostly done by Tony himself with help here and there by his crew. Install itself didn't take long at all. It probably would've taken an hour, but Tony made sure the fitment was just right. (I think he was taking breaks to answer all your PM's, but it's all good, was worth the wait) ;)

The Sound from the outside is definitely deep, and the lack of rasp put a smile on my face. (I still have stock cats on.) In-cabin sound (w/ windows up) was noticeably louder but bearable during low rpms and gets quieter at cruising speeds. You can definitely hear the power coming from the exhaust rather than just the engine now. I now have another excuse to upgrade my audio system.

The Clearance to the ground was not a problem. I'm on Eibach's and I measured 4" to the ground from the lowest point on the mufflers. No scraping on the crappy roads around the shop during our test drive and cleared my driveway and speedbumps at work.

The Power seems to have increased. I couldn't tell at the lower RPM's but after 4.5k RPM? "ya boyeee!" -MyButt :icon23:

Thanks to Tony and the rest of the guys at Fast Intentions for creating this great exhaust. It was nice meeting you.
