Awesome. Definitely thinking I'll end up doing HFCs and 18" res to keep things relatively tame. How does it compare to stock in terms of volume?

Its substantially louder, but the CAI might also be contributing to that.

Thanks for doing my install today Tony!

I'll have pics in my picture album tomorrow when I get the pics off my friends camera.

For those of you worried about the 18" res setup being too silent -

I definitely don't find that to be the case. I scared a couple guys in a mustang next to me at a stoplight when it turned green on the way home lol.

I'll see if I can get some decent video clips for you guys but I'm not sure if I can get a decent enough camcorder to truly capture the sound. It's amazing!

My initial impressions are that its very well behaved on the freeway. On the streets its pretty much a menace to society when you get on the throttle. Pretty aggressive but the tone is quite refined. I love it so far!

On the way home I crossed paths with some cops. I've never tried to be so gentle with the throttle in my life! LOL!

It was a pleasure meeting you today, Dean. We appreciate the business, enjoy!

Point well taken, page 1 updated...

Thank you, Tony

is it possible to get the cf mufflers on a 370z with the rest of your catback system? is there any advantage on the cf muffler other than weight?

The only portion of the exhaust that is Carbon Fiber is the cases to the mufflers. It will shed a few pounds and change the appearance. In addition, it will be slightly louder.

XwChriswX 07-31-2009 01:09 AM

Do we have alot of pics, or any vids of the CF?

so then basically the muffler shells are carbon fiber? and when u say louder, is it louder in a good way, or a nasty raspy way? why is it that the carbon fiber mufflers are louder? and as far as apperance goes you wont really see it unless u go under the car, correct?

The Carbon Fiber mufflers are louder because they do not trap the sound as well as the Stainless Steel case would. They only increase the overall tone level, they will not change the sound for the worse thats for sure. No rasp and definitely not nasty. For the appearance you will see most of the canister from behind the car. They have alot of pitch to them so it is for sure noticeable.

I cant thank Tony enough for the effort he has put in helping me and a few others in Australia:tiphat:. We even had a quick chat (2230 his time i think it was) and was extremely helpful.

The only bummer is the fact Australia is too damn far away and shipping will take longer:mad:, otherwise i cant wait.

Just a quick thanks to G37Sam as well for his Vid's he has posted on Youtube as well. Gives you a great idea of what the RTP's/CBE with CF sounds like (and his driving style:stirthepot::p).

Great work guys.

G37Sam 07-31-2009 04:53 PM

Haha thanks mate, myself I stay in Dubai and Tony really took care of me. Posting these video's and pix are the least I could do in return.

bmarcinczyk14 07-31-2009 11:22 PM

anyone with a drop and the FI cbe yet to confirm no exhaust rubbing? also, why is it u recommend getting the 18 inch resonators with the hfc's and not the 12 inch?

Three are in the mail and only the prototype and the one I installed yesterday are on cars. If you mean rubbing on the underside of the car at any point, it wont happen. There is clearance all around.

u installed one on a lowered 370z w/o rubbing then? and why do u not recommend a 12 inch resonator with the hfc's? u 18 inch resonators are recommend for hfc's.

That depends on you... He recommended 18inch Res for me since I was looking for a certain sound. I didn't want it real loud rather deep sounding. Call him and tell him what you are looking for and he will hook you up with a combo that fits your needs. As Tony put it "he is trying to make this exhaust for us not just to sell exhaust system that we will be unhappy with" BTW Thanks Tone for that!:ugh2:

Couldn't agree with you more on this. He was happy explaining it too me, some 8000+km's away LOL. He went through the options we are after and advised me of what it would be like, just to make sure that we will be happy with it once it's installed.

So 10 out of 10 from me.

dainedazz 08-02-2009 06:07 AM

i envy you guys. i want this exhaust badly but i'll need to be patient & wait for my money to come in.

dszombiex, post some pics & vids of your 18'' res. set-up!
i would love to hear the sound on it.

I still offer the same payment plan that I offered during the previous sales for the other models. It is for the customer who wants the exhaust but may need a few months or so to get the funds together, but still gets locked in to the sale price. If you are interested I will give you the details...

Thanks, Tony

bmarcinczyk14 08-02-2009 06:12 PM

can anyone here or tony confirm that the fast intentions hfc's will bolt right up to a pair of stillen headers? thanks.

nixxer 08-02-2009 06:23 PM

Hawaii shipping

Do you know what it would cost for shipping to Hawaii? Oahu specifically? Im looking for a really deep sound that isnt crazy loud, and will be getting headers at a later time. I really dislike rasp, and the local dealers all sell fart cans for the ricer crowd.

And the payment plan sounds good. PM please.

Yes, they should. Stillen headers are made to hook up to stock cats, and FI HFC are direct replacements of the Stock HFC.

B1nks 08-02-2009 06:41 PM

I need a giant pm on this one.:happydance:

Tony... any chance that you would offer and exchange within the first 30 days or so if we buy a 12" resonated X and think it's too loud?
