STILLEN G3 Ultra Long Tube Intake

since i also mention this another thread...lol...here's some more details to it.

these are by far the best intakes for the G37 right now, the Injen one was a total struggle and no one liked it cause it didnt make much Hp gain at all !!
these intakes made a good amount, since the engine is the same on the new Z, Stillen would probably just need to design the outer pip part so that is fits behind the new bumper/grille of the Z.

a vid for it ( I believe that that car in the vid has exhausts and HFC's also)

I'll try and find more clips that doesnt had such a modded car in it

here is Stillen dyno sheet (I'll find others from customers)

building some hype here, dont forget to give me some rep points :tiphat:

G in ny 12-07-2008 11:35 PM

Yea I seen these before I doubt it gives you that much gain though

nogoodname 12-08-2008 09:39 AM

^^^ true, but the gains are still good when compared to other intakes, some ppl got around 14 hp out of it

RCZ 12-08-2008 11:35 AM

:icon18:

really? 14hp?

I'm going to do baseline pulls and then test out some stuff for you all.

nogoodname 12-08-2008 11:37 AM

^^ on another forum, some ppl got that much....lol

you'll be our guinea pig for mod testings

RCZ 12-08-2008 12:33 PM

I don't mind as long as a reputable shop provides the parts.

nogoodname 12-08-2008 12:36 PM

^^ the Stillen ppl should join this forum, they sometimes give group buys

Slidefox 12-08-2008 02:27 PM

I've been on that street before!! :D

Stillen makes a good product! Should be interesting to see what they come out with for the 370!!

nogoodname 12-10-2008 03:56 PM

^^ the process is starting already at Stillen !!

Josh@STILLEN 12-10-2008 06:20 PM

Hey guys.. we can appreciate your skepticism on the power gains.. but we put the time in to get these results, with weeks of dyno testing and over 50 iterations of the intake until we were satisfied.

We have not fitted the 370Z with an intake system, but be assured we will be all over it once we have a long term vehicle in house. I can't say what gains would be on the 3.7L Z, we'll have to wait and see.

Keep us apprised of the products you're looking for, I'd be happy to take them into our new products meetings..

^ Thanks for the post.

These intakes seem like they'll be promising on the 370.

Better late than never!

Thanks for the invite!

NIZMOZ 12-10-2008 10:02 PM

I would say get the HR 350Z intake done first then do the 370z. People have been waiting.

shumby 12-12-2008 01:17 AM

the G37S is getting good gains of 14 hp with this intake and stock exhaust. I know some good guys on other fourms that did independant dyno's. You will get less gain if you have HFC's and a cat back thought but still worthit as it looks so sexy. It is the next mod for my G

RCZ 12-12-2008 10:15 PM

Less of a gain when you have a more free flowing exhaust?

shumby 12-12-2008 10:18 PM

yep that is the case.

OldDirty Z34 12-13-2008 03:33 AM

Explanations plz

18rgcelica73 12-15-2008 04:10 PM

I hope these intakes perform as sexy as they look.

nogoodname 12-15-2008 04:13 PM

^^ they do !!

just wait til they hit the Z's.....ooo man, that's gonna rock the Z's

shumby 12-15-2008 04:15 PM

ya they are the only intakes that produced good independant dyno gains on the G37

nogoodname 12-15-2008 04:19 PM

the rest were in the single digits

18rgcelica73 12-15-2008 04:41 PM

That the nizmo exhaust and the access port when ever cobb comes out with it for the 370, I can safely say we will be seeing very low 12's in the 1/4.

nogoodname 12-15-2008 04:50 PM

what's so special about the nismo exhaust, it looks exactly like the stock but chromed??????

and isn't it expensive, why not buy an aftermarket one from someone else???

shumby 12-15-2008 04:55 PM

^^^ exactly like fast intentions

18rgcelica73 12-15-2008 05:05 PM

To me it just looks sexy because it is shinier. I will prabably go with something else I want performance but that sound as well.

I don't think so man. niZmo huh?

Between the exhaust and the AP you might gain 35-45hp, thats not going to shave a second off your quarter mile time. Hell, add the Intake and some headers and you're still going to be around a 12.7-13.0 range.

Sorry to rain on your parade.

18rgcelica73 12-15-2008 10:06 PM

Yeah I made up a new name nizmo. Well from what I have seen so far with the magazine guys driving to a 13.3 and g37's doing the same times at 700lbs more than the 370z. I want to see a really good driver take it to the track.

LiquidZ 12-19-2008 04:48 PM

How does Stillen's products, service, quality and performance hold up to the competitors?

Slidefox 12-19-2008 04:50 PM

Stillen has been in the Nissan business for many years... Mid 80s I think. There facility is top noch (I've been there), and they hold one of the biggest Nissan events in SoCal every year. There products are A OK in my book!!

LiquidZ 12-19-2008 05:19 PM

No offense to Stillen, but I'm still a little skeptical about the gains.

I feel that 18 hp just from the intake alone is a bit of a stretch. I would believe 18 hp with the intakes and a tune maybe.

Thoughts?

shumby 12-19-2008 05:25 PM

here is an independant dyno/review of it on the G37S
