Lost power in take off after motordyne m370

Guys,
:( I lost take off power after installing motordyne m370 intake manifold.
Anyone got the same problem.

TerribleONE 07-03-2012 12:52 PM

the dynos show that.. tune it and you can pretty much get it back to stock levels and pick up power up top..

aalqaedi 07-03-2012 01:19 PM

You think I should take it off :(

HKYStormFront 07-03-2012 01:42 PM

the engine has to be tuned for the increased air flow. it's running lean down low now, it sounds like.

aalqaedi 07-03-2012 01:53 PM

HKYStormFront,
Do you think unichip will do the trick

HKYStormFront 07-03-2012 01:54 PM

honestly, i'm not sure. i don't know what all unichip does. i'm only really familiar with Uprev tuning since i have it on my truck. hopefully someone who knows will be able to answer your question...

aalqaedi 07-03-2012 01:59 PM

Thanks very much bro

Jordo! 07-03-2012 02:19 PM

You picked up mid range torque; with tuning you'll break about even in peak..

Get Osiris uprev and dyno tune the car.

280z/300zx 07-03-2012 03:11 PM

UH OH, sounds like someone didn't do his research before modding his car. You a need a tune bro. Get uprev and all will be good again. Do it quick to before you do damage to the engine.

370ZilverZ 07-03-2012 05:20 PM

Yep, do an uprev tune and you will feel a new car under your azz!

SS_Firehawk 07-03-2012 06:17 PM

I have the same issue and I'm untuned. Part of it is due to a busted O2 sensor so I'm super rich to the point of back fire on light throttle inputs. I'll be fixing it this weekend.

aalqaedi 07-03-2012 10:19 PM

Will do that bro's thanks for the input.

aalqaedi 07-03-2012 10:30 PM

Do you think guys unichip will be good. I've had it before and did get nice HP

SS_Firehawk 07-03-2012 10:32 PM

I wouldn't mess with any ECU tune software unless it was from Uprev with these vehicles right now.

aalqaedi 07-03-2012 11:48 PM

Ok uprev will be on my car this weekend.
Thanks guys

CarbonSignal 07-04-2012 01:22 AM

Hi aalqaedi

Pm me , will guide you where to tune in UAE

What other mods you have on the car ?!?! Exhaust, intake ?!?!

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 11:38 AM

Guys I got the dyno sheet I will post it today. I have it on my iPad and I don't know how to upload from I pad.
It was 234 whp and 197 wtq :(
The car is right not lean as I though.
So this is what I will do:
1- I will put invida test pipe
2- reinstall the m370 intake manifold and check the seal
3- check the O2 sensor
Any thing els I have to do guys
Thanks in advance ;)

what kind of dyno? those are some pretty low numbers..

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 11:56 AM

It is mustang dynamoter

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 12:22 PM

I will post it today.

SS_Firehawk 07-10-2012 12:30 PM

The seal is super important. Make sure the bolts aren't cross threaded and seated square on the plate.

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 01:47 PM

guys this is the dyno chart. Advice if you can see any problem :(

The dyno chart looks normal. You have good midrange torque which the M370 gives and the numbers are reasonable from a Mustang dyno. I have CAI, HFC, CBE and lightweight pulley with an M370 intake and UpRev tune on a Mustang dyno which my numbers also show. Most people with the same mods on a DynoJet are seeing around 320whp. The numbers are nice to look at, but how does it feel? Mine felt like night and day after the M370 UpRev tune.

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 03:03 PM

Well the guys at the tuning shop did not tune the car because they felt something isnt right about the reading.
So this chart without the tuning.
Do you think that I should go and do the tuning?

A tune should smooth out the jagged edges.

This is my Mustang Dyno chart. The lower set of lines are a base run and the higher set are with all installed mods and UpRev tune.

This is what mine was looking like with a bad M370 install on a dynojet with an overlay of the existing exhaust mods

This is the graph of what it looked like just before the stock manifold and all listed mods on my sig.

This is nearly a 100 whp difference from one mod incorrectly installed.

This is the video of what it sounded like.

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 10:09 PM

Very nice sound. I will reinstall it this weekend. I did order the invidia yest pipe and I will get them also this weekend. Thanks guys and I will be posting what will happen with me :)

Rooskey 07-10-2012 10:34 PM

As soon as I installed my M370 I could instantly tell a good power boost in the mid range. Even as low as 3000rpms. The only reason you might experience a decrease in power down low is if you have an automatic trans or if your install was not proformed correctly. My car was not tuned and only had some simple mods done at the time I installed my intake manifold.

aalqaedi 07-10-2012 10:50 PM

I'm Not sure. The shop installed the manifold for me is a good tuning shop, but mistake might happen. And yes my car is Auto. Could the vacum installed incorrectly?
because I saw the mechanic did a two T joints?

If your vacuum lines are not connected your performance will suffer. You do have to use T connections when installing the M370 which is fine as long as there are no leaks or disconnected vacuum sources. I have a 7AT and had no power loss at low end. Actually the torque felt stronger.

SS_Firehawk 07-11-2012 10:23 AM

The sound in the video is what bad sounds like even though it sounded cool

aalqaedi 07-12-2012 05:19 AM

I will check the vacuum lines because I called Motordyne and sent me the installation notes. In the manual they connected only One T joints and in my car they did Two.
I will try to fix it this weekend. But my uprev appointment will be next Thursday.

aalqaedi 07-14-2012 01:12 PM

Guy,
I took a picture Of the connection behind the Intake manifold. Could it be the problem ?
Thanks
