If you what loud go for non resonated catback and test pipes or long tube headers and CBE.

Huan'z 08-04-2012 09:54 AM

Just go with 18" res cbe and test pipe. U will love the sound.

Hey Tony and everyone! Finally got around to making a halfway decent vid to sample the sound of this system! Here I'm running the FI resonated test pipes and the FI non resonated exhaust, along with Injen intakes. Hopefully this helps, definitely more to come in the future

It's certainly not quiet, but it sounds amazing in person, and really doesn't drone as much as you would imagine. Two thumbs up from me!

I don't think you'll be happy with anything, just stick to your stock exhaust.

I agree! When did people start thinking that sports cars should have an aggressive exhaust note that borders on the edge of the legal Db limits???? And those :nutswinger: Harley riders...where do they get off having such a loud exhaust!? I swear, some people.... :stirthepot:

At no point should anyone take this post seriously!

Glokwork 08-05-2012 11:37 AM

It's definitely loud but thats what I wanted. I want mine louder to be honest but the sound is so clean I almost don't want to mess with it. Whatever FI setup you choose you really can't go wrong! I'll try to get some fly by videos in the future once I put the stock body back on.

I think the last time I updated "The List" it was in the 550's. Sold 599,600 & 601 today. I need to and will update the list soon. Thank you to all who have supported us especially through the move in to the new shop. Everyday we are getting more and more settled in.

I have a large number of pm's. I am doing my best to get back to all of you. I understand some of you have moved on to other options due to my lack of response. For those who are still interested, please do not hesitate to call me directly. Unless I am not at the shop, I am ALWAYS (usually) available over the phone. :tiphat:

Thank you, Tony

KaienZ34 08-07-2012 11:05 PM

I have a used FI catback uninstalled, what the best way or what to use to clean the black out of the inside of the pipes?

Tony, can you check your numbers again? You said you have sold 599, 600 and 601 but I'm 577 and don't have mine yet. It's not suppose to ship until mid September.

edit: just spoke to tony, slightly behind. mine was supposed to ship out friday the latest but its looking more like wednesday/thursday now. No big deal to me at all, i dont mind the wait, im just super excited!!!

Ive heard Windex works wonders but I personally haven't tried it on an exhaust yet. Which FI setup do you have? I am still trying to decide on which one to buy lol.

I've got the non resonated catback. I had the 12" resonated, but traded the mid section with worm.

AreJay 08-08-2012 01:42 PM

Is the non resonated a lot louder then the 12' resonated exhaust. There's a used non resonated for sale in the forums and I'm considering buying it. The hp gains between the non resonated and resonated are they same right? The resonated are just more quiet?

Huck 08-08-2012 02:01 PM

To my understanding that is correct.

I believe so, if there is any power difference it wouldn't be much.

Just got off the phone with Tony ordering my CBE, 18" resonators and HFCs and I'm #601. He said he had shipped up to #552 if that helps you.

Quoted mid-late november which sounds about right.

There are no HP differences. The Resonators do not pose any restrictions on the air flow. The pipe is still the same diameter the entire length of the CBE or HFC, the only difference between having the resonators than not is a honey-combed envelope around the pipe to absorb the sound. There are no restrictions to the airflow. This was confirmed by Toni to me when I was ordering my FI HFC/CBE system.

Here are some pictures of my system that shows you how this is constructed. Hope this helps you out some.

Drone

I installed the cat back FI exhaust on my 2012 Z. There is a distinct annoying drone at 4000 rpm except when I have the windows rolled down. Why does having the windows down make a difference, internal pressure?

Do you have non resonated?

djkyky 08-09-2012 07:39 PM

Resonated.

I don't get any drone at 4000 rpms. I have the 12" resonated version. I do get a little drone at 2000 but nothing crazy.

Yep, got it installed Wednesday. I didn't bother cleaning it inside. All the oil burned out after about 15 minutes of driving.

You should come check out the guy that did mine. I know it's a drive but he can knock it out in like 90 minutes. It ended up being $95 for me and he even took pictures for me during the install.

KaienZ34 08-10-2012 09:58 PM

I got quoted $450 for HFC and exhaust install. I take it that's a ripoff?

KaienZ34 08-10-2012 10:13 PM

They wanted 300 for just the catback in my small a$$ town. I just left, so i guess it depends on where you live and whatnot.

Holy crap... that's like 2 or 2 and a half hours of work for someone who knows what they're doing. I'd say $180 an hour is a little pricey.

KaienZ34 08-10-2012 10:17 PM

Just for reference, me and worm are about an hour and a half away from each other.

Huan'z 08-10-2012 10:32 PM

Do it yourself. The system was straight forward and beside the biggest thing is u don't need to mod anything to fit right. Took me like 3 hours to install my test pipe and catback. Give it a try! And save the money of diff mods!:)

I'm 594 scheduled for November week 1. That's 42 CBE's away. Non-resonated, carbon cans. The wait kills.
