NEW AAM Competition Short Tail Ti-Tip Exhaust Pre-Order Deal
|
Why don't more companies make exhaust tips like these. They have so much more style than cut or rolled tips, burned or not. IMO, these are the best looking in the industry, and the titanium burned finish only makes it look better. GW AAM

:iagree:
Looking to order, but curious as to when it would ship. |
+1 on when they will ship please
|
Hey guys we are looking about 4 weeks from tomorrow it would ship. As there finished it will ship. But right now if I had to put a date on it 4 to 5 weeks until you would have them. From today's date! The day I get these tips this price is going up by close to 100 bucks.

what do you guys need? deposit, or paid in full?
|
Full payment. Easier top track that way.
-Adam |
got a question.... and im hoping this isnt taken the wrong way so please dont think im saying this in a smartass way, but why the $500 price for this axle back? i kno before i had an exhaust i was lookin to spend that much, but companies such as cnt and top speed grabbed my attention by offering and entire catback for that price.
legit question so please dont jump all over me for this. just seems from an outside perspective, that if u guys shot for a $350 price point u could slide right in below these existing catbacks price point and grab a lot more customers attention |
You make a very valid point. I have never seen the other product or the effort put into the other product. Remember these are made here in house. These tips cost us a good chunk of money. Hand tig welding and mandrel bent piping. There 100% stainless steel also using 304ss where others are 409 stainless which is a lesser grade. Other companies will use a mild steel flange or press bent piping to help cost cost or even made in China/Taiwan. I don't see anything wrong with that from a price point. We are more about quality of quantity. They do sell very well even at the price point there at and not to mention sound really good.
-Adam |
thanks for the response. makes sense i guess. dont want to take the chance that other companies did by going too cheap and tarnishing the company's name right off the bat.
smart. carry on! |
I only know the product we have and to be honest I don't like to tarnish other companies. They do better things we can in some aspects and we can do better things in other aspects. I like to pay attention to detail personally. Form and Function. Best of both worlds.

do you happen to know how long this pre-order deal will be? I want it, but I don't have the money quite yet.
|
What is the Db level you expect out of the kit? I plan on heading up to Leguna Seca for a track day and the track has a Db limit of 91.

Pro-Order thru June 15th. It can not be had on the website right now. I will see if we can incorporate it on the site so you can place the orders there also. -Adam |

We did the Db reading on Randy's car and I forgot what it was at. Now is it 91Db at idle or at WOT? I am not a road course guy so I have no idea. -Adam |

is it possible to get a little discount if I were to pick them up from you instead of shipping?
|
Can anyone comment on how these compare sound and drone wise to say a full exhaust like
a fast intentions? |
Quote:
Yer neighbors might not like you if you have a garage btw, on startup its growls like a tiger and then drones and resonates for a minute, almost like a big block v8 lol. :excited: |

You could pick it up but there would be tax :(. Shipping to VA there is no tax. -Adam |
WOT from about 4 feet measured 105db max...
they sound awesome - no real drone - but definitely a big growl when you press go. |

Yeah sound levels are measured at WOT, though the distance changes based on the feeling/location etc.

Daily driving is fine, shifting economically and crusing its pretty normal with a little brrrrrrrrrr. Its only obscene when its above 4k really lol. :icon14: |
At cruising you cant here it, but at WOT it is a beast. And yes it sounds like a built v8 when it fires up in the morning. LOL. I love the sound. Different tips then mine, but sure it sounds fairly close.

Adam, could the shorties bolt up to a Nismo S-Tune CBE?
The S-Tune I believe is 3" diameter all the way back to the muffler. Need confirmation on this... The shorties from the description on your website is "Built from 304 stainless steel, the S-Line Short Tails feature 2.5 inch pipes from the flanges to the 4 inch diameter polished stainless exhaust tips". AAM Competition - Nissan GT-R, 370Z Turbo Performance Specialists |
Do we know the value of max power and torque with this exhaust ? What is the order of the loss?
|
Quote:
Sorry for the delayed response but this is meant to only bolt to a factory Base Model, Sport and Convertible stock exhaust. It is just a muffler delete. I am not sure if it will fit the Nismo but I do know it will look very out of place on the Nismo rear bumper. -Adam Also we do not have any dyno numbers for this exhaust. |
Quick question about the studs that connect the muffler and the mid-pipe. Are they stuck on the mid-pipe or do they come out? Does that make sense?? lol
|
Do you have any sound clips of these on your shop's Z? you did mention that the sound changed from the regular tip short tails. I would like to hear it before going placing the order.
|
I will try and get the clip but it sounded the same once the intakes were installed on Randy's vehicle.

I would love these Ti tips, very tastefully done. Unfortunately, I work on a terrible, monthly paycheck. Just spent my most recent one on some test pipes and other miscellaneous needs for living. At 450 a pop for inhouse manufacturing and engineering, this is an absolute steal. I guess I'll have to ante up 600 when these are actually retailed. Great job. You guys at AAM are doing great work. |
Pre-ordered mine about a week or so ago, just curious if there's been any shipping updates

hope that's true.
can't wait to put these on! |
Should be mid July...
