o2 Sensor threads trashed

So i pulled my headers out and wanted to get my sensor out so i can place them in my new header, i did the passenger side first and it broke free but then got stuck after about 1/2 turn... we tried forever to get it to not be stuck or have to force it out but we ended up with no choice and the threads got destroyed... the sensor itself is still in good shape but i cant install this into the new header... the driver side is stuck the same way but we didnt get it out yet... i need ideas on what i can do? where i could get replacements if needed? thanks

Depending on price of O2 and how bad you messed the threads up you could use a thread file or die

Its pretty bad there's like no threads at all.. not sure how well a tap and die set will work

I used a thread repair die on mine and it worked perfect!

I used a M18x 1.5 spindle thread repair die.

I got it on snapon.com for $13

New they are 214 each so hope u can fix them or you gotta buy a
New one.

Same thing happened to me on the cat sensor. I bought a NTK aftermarket sensor to replace it since the threads weren't salvagable.

The upstream one you need is $132 on rockauto.com

It doesn't say whether it is upstream or downstream. The upstream sensor is a wideband O2 and hence costs more, so i would say that this isn't it. I would also stay away from sites like that as they don't list brand names so who knows what crap you get.

When I did my research the rockauto site was the cheapest reputable place I could find.

Those are the rear O2 sensors, not the widebands.

I just ordered 2 widebands myself as mine were beyond repair, courtesyparts.com has them for $168 a piece right now, when I ordered them last wednesday they were $140.

Your best bet when they get stuck is to heat the manifold with a torch, get that thing glowing red and it will break free.

Agree, Personally im using the same stuff of which has the highest quality and performance. Most of all it direct fits on my vehicle though the warranty is an additional thing....
