Intakes came in today but it was missing one of the Tube #3's (should've been 2). The shorter ones that connect the filter to the 45 degree coupler. So I called up Autoanything and their customer service rep was really helpful and got the warehouse to send that part.

Impressions on the intake are good. The tubes are well polished and the filter looks pretty beefy. I was surprised how large it was when I held it in my hands. There were a couple small nicks on one of the bends in the longer tubes but not really noticeable unless you are up close, and the inside is undamaged. The insides of the tubes have some black powder, probably from the manufacturing. I read somewhere that the Gen 3's also have this. I don't know if leaving it there would be harmful in any way, so I'll be washing that out later today.

I'm hoping the tube gets here soon, because I'm eager to install it.

I didn't clean mine out, and I put a few little nicks in the tubing when I installed them and they buffed out for the most part. Yeah, pictures of the filter don't really allow you to get a good feel for the size. Not bad.


The instructions are missing some steps in my opinion, here's what I would add or change:

Step 2: Pull up on the center piece of the cover to remove.

Step 9: Might not be required to be performed to remove the bumper. I did though and no one died.

Step 11: Requires you to remove the retaining clip in the front of each wheelwell and pull the inner liner just over it back slightly to access the 10mm bolt.

Step 12: If you have the air deflectors, you also have to remove the bolt that attaches to the bumper undertray. The other 2 can stay.

Step 13: Installation of the couplers requires the removal of the 2 plastic pieces (one on each side) above the radiator support. They are held in place by a bolt and a plug and are easy to take out. Do not spend an hour trying to squeeze the couplers through the small opening. :facepalm:

Step 21: The filter mounts to the bracket with the supplied hardware and requires the removal of a clip for the hole. It's right where the #14 is on the picture. It can be seen in my picture above.

Step 23: Is easier to accomplish if you have someone hold up one end of the bumper while you install the other.

Step 24: Do not gall any of the threads. :mad:

That's the exact part I'm missing too. Although the right and left sides are the same, it seems.

They seem to be similar designs but it wasn't well received over there. Makes me pretty nervous about it, but I am pretty sure our version of the intakes are a much more updated design. At least the couplings all fit together very nicely, without much of a gap with the tubes.

They are 2 day shipping th pipe. So hopefully by Thursday!

I just read the g thread on these. Anyone having fitment issues, specifically with couplers diameter bring too large and/or couplers being to short?

I just called them directly. This morning. I asked when it'll ship. He said probably today.
