I sold my Prelude recently to make space for my Z. You can still see the auction here, which includes a set of pictures of my Prelude. I have a homepage about my Lude, too, where I kept track of all modifications I made. I have done everything myself, whether ECU hacking, Cam Piston or conrod installations, even bumper paintjob. It was my true DIY project for almost 9 years, starting from bone stock. When I auctioned the Lude I was spotted by the Lude Generation Forum and invited to give a few write-ups, which you may find in this thread. That's it. I hadn't been active on any Prelude forum ever. |
V1H, those are rubber dampers to alleviate vibration and "hiss" from the OEM exhaust. (The pic you posted asking)

Maybe it acts a kind of counterweight and somehow is engineered to vibrated in sync with the pipe but with a phase delay of Pi, thus cancelling vibration.. a bit like noise cancelling "anti-sound" The wire-through-hole must be limiting the deflection/amplitude of the counterweight vibration, perhaps it makes it more broad-band (less sharp a resonance curve) or keeps the phase delay at Pi Just speculating here  http://www.prelude.myzen.co.uk/370Z/Temp/damper.jpg |
Anyone by chance have this exhaust with a BP Turbo?

Alternative Exhaust Tips
Hi all,
I am going to replace my Shockwave))) Exhaust tips (4.5" blue rolled Ti) with some alternative ones that I found here: www.42draftdesigns.com/Clamp-On-Tips_c_168.html The above selection fits our 3" tail pipes. I chose the 4" OD brushed S/S double wall clamp-on style. But they got single-wall and/or weld-on versions, too. The highly polished or matte black versions are beautiful, as well  The double wall design looks very professional and reminds me a bit of BMW M3 style... just bigger. http://www.42draftdesigns.com/assets...-62CBR_002.jpg Best wishes |
Great Review Boost - called Motordyne just now to order, I want to get an exhaust before the summer is over lol. But unfortunately the latest batch has weld issues around the muffler - and they need to be rechecked or even rewelded and won't be shipping for 2 - 4 weeks... ugggg.
 |
hi all, looking to get this exhaust from a vendor on here. Can anyone state what's a good shipped price? I've been looking and the lowest I got was around $1700. I swear I saw it for 100 less elsewhere.
|
^^ Motordyne prices went up. I think $1600-1700 is the best you're going to get. I think Nugen gave me the best price out of the vendors.
|
Thanks! Strange that prices when up when people had issues with the latest batch...
|
^^ what issues were these?
