One thing I just thought about... the Injen intakes probably wouldn't be compatible with brake ducting since you probably have to route the tubing through the area where the filters would rest (if you are sourcing the air from the front opening).

How well do you think water cooled brakes will do? Since you know all those people driving through rivers complaining about Injens sucking up water will complain... :ugh2:

Hmmm... well if you dumped water on a super hot rotor you'd probably crack it!

:icon18: Yeah I would definitely get that and the brake cooling it by the time I'm ready for some serious tracking.

Glad I have the G3's. There was one time where my Z was in deep enough water that having injens on would have killed it. Still had stock intakes at the time though.

To get back on topic a bit, you could also do what I did and just pick up a used set of G3's. Got them shipped for $300 and they work perfectly

well... I sort of wanted to try something different number 1, secondly I really would prefer to not do any cutting... third... it's VERY hard to get a used set of G3's before other people jump on them, everyone has them... their power gains mostly are at the top end where I feel the PMT's and drop ins would benefit throughout more of the power band and with the fang vents also help up top. Lastly... after all mods are installed i'm not convinced the G3's are really the best option. I also don't want to have to take the bumper off and continue to do so to clean them... even if they are good for 50k miles, I would NEVER let them go that long. I might let mine go for 5k miles at most.

Yeah you really have to watch the classifieds section carefully to jump on any good deals. Or you can post up a WTB thread, which is what I did and it worked out pretty well. I was worried about taking the bumper off too, but it only took me like 5-10 minutes to take it off and I haven't really ever worked on cars before. Of course I was being supervised and instructed by someone who knew what they were doing. It's really not that big of a deal to take it off. The sound also is a lot better with the G3's, which I love as well :D

Three quick revs with the hood up was all it took to convince birdmanx1 to jump ship and want to get the G3's :rofl2:
