Default Demon bolt dilemma

So I decided to tackle my art pipes and hit a big snag, my extension snapped inside my 14mm socket and its seized on the demon bolt on the drivers side. Ideas on getting the.socket.off?

Spray it down with some pb blaster. Use a long extension to get down through the engine bay and tap it with a hammer to pop the socket off the bolt.

Or something like what he suggested. I know its obvious but you should spray exhaust bolts/nuts before removing cuz of heat soak and rust.

he might have sprayed them, but if they are bad they need to be sprayed sometimes several times over several days... at least that's what I did.

Thanks for the replies guys, ended up spraying it again, hammering it for about 20 minutes then borrowed my buddies air chisel with extensions, finally let go. So in total snapped the heads of 2 craftsman extensions, used my snap on 3/8 with a 1/2 extension on a breaker bar to finally finish it off. Enjoying the smell of 0 cats.

what I do when customers drop off their cars for this mod is prepare all tools and work area on the car, then let it run for a bit holding it on the revs increasing the exhaust temp then spray with oil. Sometime repeating the last step then jump on the bolts while they burning hot. Using all 1/2 tools to do the job as most 3/8 brake. This usually works for me. GL!!

That would be my suggestion....let the heat do the work for you and expand the flange hole (gigity).

Yea they do for the tuff jobs. When I look at mine then my dads tools which are 20+ years old you can just tell they are better made materials

Thanks guys definitely was tough the steering shaft makes it almost impossible for the half inch on the G coupe at least, godbless my snap on 3/8 extension. My 2 cents use quality stuff when taking on this job, before that driver side I was feeling pretty cocky flying through this, till the demon bolt shoved some humble pie down my throat. Lol

Sad part about all the craftsman stuff when I went to pickup another set of jack stands was all the boxes/ tags were labeled made in China. Can't say that necessarily means its bad, just wasn't strong enough for this job, and I can't remember the last thing I bought labeled made in the USA.

Only mod so far except for the Zele shift knob.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http://youtu.be/80Vom6OoZqY
