Thank you for taking an interest in our products, looks like everyone else has been able to chime in with some great information, however if there is anything else you would like to ask, or if you would like to place an order... Please do not hesitate to call me directly!

Thank you, Blake

Both are great options, you can't go wrong with either

That being said I like the HKS since it's less common on the Z34 but the Fast Intentions sounds better on stock cats

grant 04-08-2013 06:33 PM

I've got the HKS, with Z1 HFC, and it sounds perfect. Not too loud, not too quiet, well till you get to around 4,000 rpm, then it opens up.

Thanks for the answers so far! Forza, why did you get rid of your F.I. exhaust?

Sorry I didn't clarify the Fast Intentions was on my G35 coupe and I sold the car so was the exhaust. As for the FI, I really can't find anything to complain. It sounds awesome I loved it. The HKS has a different tone. Sound not as deep as the FI at low rpms. But it's louder and sound exotic at WOT under the load. You really can't go wrong with either one. I still suggest to attend some local meets and hear them for yourself.

Being lowered 1.5 inches is lower than any springs out there and quite frankly that is slammed by most people's standards.

You'll be scraping more than just the exhaust at that point trust me as the front sport chin spoiler scrapes like crazy and I'm on H&Rs which only lowers 1.3 front and 1.0 rear.

My vote FI FTW...

Fairly sure the FI exhaust doesn't hang any lower than the stock exhaust. More than one person has stated as much.

If you'll do a seach on here, you'll find several review threads from happy F.I. customers.

You won't find many reviews on HKS as the price doesn't justify the comparable gains to several other systems for 1/3 the cost.

If you are looking for an F.I. exhaust setup, they also make HFC's as well if you wanted to look into that option. However I have personally heard the Berk HFC/F.I. CBE setup and think it is AWESOME. :yum:

If you're looking for the exhaust to be loud and proud, but not obtrusive on daily driving, and plan to get the Berk HFC's, I'd recommend going with the 18" resonated, Stainless Steel Muffler F.I. CBE setup. It will keep down the volume while cruising, but wake up when you get on the throttle. The perfect combination of performance, sound, and cost effectiveness.

Also, :welcome: fellow PA member! :tiphat:

Not to thread jack but any recommendations with ART pipes? Stuck between GT-haus axle back and AAM mid pipe, FI, Top Speed, and HKS.

SoCalBoy 04-09-2013 04:50 AM

I have HKS and love it, but from your description I wouldn't recommend that exhaust. HKS gives a low gentle sound but roars once you rip it open, plus the power gains are a plus. For the loud, deep, and beefy sound I would go with FI :tiphat:

2 hours away. Gotta be a forum member in the Philly/Main Line area with FI exhaust out there. Anyone? Bueller?

If I'm going to be down that way I'll let you know. If you find your way up the Northeast Extension, let me know!

You may get an equally good product with HKS but you'll never get FI's customer service ;)

Because an exhaust that weighs more than stock and still uses a Y pipe like the stock system and costs as much or more as the other exhausts mentioning in this thread is clearly a better choice. To say nothing of its questionable power gains.

My friends is a Nismo.. But that being said my 350z was only 3.5 inches off the ground and even a Nismo lowered 1.5 inches it will still be higher then that and I never scraped once.
The FI exhaust appears to sit a little lower then most exhausts.

Also it depends on how you drive, what state you drive in etc.

I just wanted the OP to consider that as I know my friend was pretty upset when he ruined his carbon cans from FI.

You said you wanted deep/loud?
This is me as of last week. Shot with a GoPro3 Black so its as good as you can get without professional audio equipment to capture the sound (dont worry im getting that too soon :P)
the lens gets foggy till like 30 seconds in (because i forgot about exhaust fumes)

startup (not really cold start as i went to take some pics beforehand)

this is without ART/Test/HFCs ... im throwing them on tomorrow. will post videos soon :)

redline10000 04-12-2013 02:12 PM

In terms of loudness what order would you guys put Gemini, Ark Grip, AA short tails and FI exhaust ? I have the AA short tails (makes my ears bleed) and really like the looks and sound of FI but I want something that is quiet below 4k and then above that quieter than AAM would be fine. I like ARK because it sounds good and its not loud, but it seems as if they have fitment issues and for the price they charge that's not OK. Anyone know if that has been fixed ?

All I know is my Gemini Ti-tip is significantly quiter than the Top Speed system I just took off. And that's a good thing because it also sounds better.

Were you able to adjust it so that it dosent stick out far?

Ah so much hate haha. It was cheap, easy to install, came in only 3 days (standard shipping by the way), and sounds great  I couldn't be happier with it. Unfortunately if you get caught up in HP gains from exhaust then your search is going to be much more difficult. Most exhaust for the 370 make about the same HP correct? :stirthepot:

The gemini. I saw in some treads ppl complained that the tips stuck out kinda far and you had to grind down the rivets to get them pushed back in. Did you experience this or any other problems I should be worried about?

They're crazy. If they were in any farther you would barely see them and then what's the point?

redline10000 04-17-2013 09:58 PM

Good point! thnx for the info.

Drive by with the Meisterschaft.... just to help the conversation along. If you are looking for loud and awesome, then this is your exhaust. As for the price, its expensive. But you do get a quality product and you can buy a system second hand to bring the price down a bit. I have the full stainless system. This is an example of what the car sounds like without any mods but the full system. (minus drop in filters which I doubt do anything.)

Suppose I already have a stillen catback. Could I just buy the axle back and then work my way up to the y pipe? Or is not compatible?

JDMcolombia 05-02-2013 09:43 PM

I was wondering about the greddy ti-c cbe. I'm reading and they say its discontinued, but I've been looking around and see they still sell them? another one I saw was the greddy rs, but it doesn't sound as deep as the ti-c, maybe with some hfc's? Are there any other exhausts that look/perform like the ti-c? I'm new to the tuning scene so pardon the noob ness :icon18:
All answers/feedback appreciated :tiphat:

Yea they discontinued the ti-c but they're releasing a new exhaust and it looks the same to me. Prolly just an updated design. The Ti-C is flocking LOUD!! Haha I love the sound but it has quite a bit of drone and dynamat isn't a bad idea with this exhaust.

JDMcolombia 05-09-2013 03:36 PM

Oh ok. Ya it's probably an updated version. Either way I want one. It looks and sounds sexy. Would HFC make them sound deeper and give me a slight more hp increase? I prob won't get the HFC since I live in Texas and prob won't pass emissions test.
