He is a very busy man and it may take some time for me to get my Z into his shop for fabrication but I am set on getting one made for my car. If anyone else wants to get one made I could try to negotiate a decent price and based on his schedule he could possibly fab some extras.

By all means go for it. Hopefully it can be done for a "fair" price.
