So, i installed the stillen g3 intake. My first impression is that it is pretty quiet. I was expecting more of a sucking sound. Maybe you would get that out of a short ram intake i suppose.
The last couple intakes i put on were short rams i remember. The sound difference on my subaru wrx was huge! I mean night and day for sure.
The funny thing is that the sound of the exhaust seems to have changed as much as the intake sound. So, yeah?? I put on a new intake and now my exhaust sounds different! Maybe i am crazy.
But, anywho, the stillen g3 intake is pretty quiet. It seems to have added some power. I haven't dynoed or anything.
Well I am sure when I get the exhaust on it will sound different! That will have to wait a couple days.

Actually thats normal...your exhaust should sound drastically different at WOT.

The Gen3 is further up than a Gen 1 and 2 and enclosed by the radiator and front fascia, so you won't hear that sucking sound as much. But, there is a nice growl that comes with the Gen3 for sure. All the baffling and resonators are deleted. All that will be drowned out if you install a CBE.

The G3 intakes are most audible above 5krpm and are definitely more noticeable when paired with the stock exhaust. If you ever have the car on a dyno and stand in front of it during the pull, you will definitely hear the intakes loud and clear!

No haven't done a dyno run yet. But, I am sure you would hear it standing right in front of the car...lol...fun! But, having them on almost a week I noticed the deeper growl at high rpm and under a load. Pretty cool. Like two big deep horns.
Tonight, we put on the stillen exhaust!!!! Pretty big difference. I think quiet at idle. No real drone or tainting of exhaust sound. It just sounds I think more manly. And then at high rpm it sounds mean. It lets the car make the sound.
Lol... thinking I am pretty happy at this point!! And oh yes by the way the exhaust is like one millimeter from the black crossbar of the subframe or I don't really know what it's called. Part of the car... so yeah it rattles against it a little. I will definitely have to tweak it somehow!! BUT, when it is not hitting it, it sound very smooth.
