Josh, what's up with the stillen G3 dyno in the September issue of DSport magazine, it only made 7whp? I thought it made more power then that ?

kdoske 08-06-2009 09:37 PM

hmm i thought it was 17, typo?

NewYorkJon34 08-06-2009 11:16 PM

Idk, typo or not, but they made it sound like the stillen yellow Z didn't make that much power

jookiyaya 09-12-2009 11:40 AM

i had a quck question. When you install the g3s does that void any part of the warranty?

I've had my intakes for about 3 weeks now, and since I got them I've noticed they make a short, deep "whistling" sound every time the transmission is about to change gears (upshift only). It almost sounds like a kid sucking through a big straw, and the sound only lasts for about half a second, but between each gear shift. I know you're supposed to hear a "shhhhhhh" sound as they suck air quickly, but is the whistle normal?

No, I don't think it's normal. That sounds kinda odd. I also have the G3s and I haven't noticed any sort of whistling. On the other hand, I can't really hear my intake at all due to my exhaust, so maybe I'm not the best person to render an opinion here. Would I be correct to assume you haven't done any exhaust mods yet?

u sure its not coming from the exhaust? Our exhausts make a hissing sound when you get off the throttle.

He doesn't have any exhaust upgrades installed yet. His sig says they're pending.

Correct. I don't have any exhaust mods yet and the whistle only started after I got the intakes installed. If you guys don't think it's normal, then I will have the guys check it out that installed the G3 when I go in to have the exhaust installed.

They hooked up the little nubs on the side of the intakes?

ssqpolo 09-17-2009 07:32 PM

ya. i would get that checked. i mean mine kinda hisses, but thats cuz of the test pipes. open ur hood and have someone rev the car a little and try feeling for leaks.

ssqpolo 09-17-2009 07:33 PM

...if thats possible

unisonsports 09-17-2009 09:02 PM

hi guys, first time poster... Dyno results are awesome and all, but has there been any track testing? any improvement on 0-60 or quartermile with this? Also, I remember an intake for the 350z that improved HP on the dyno but lowered the cars top speed substantially due to lack of air at higher, more turbulant speeds - has this been an issue?
