HPS Intake Tubes

Has anyone ordered these from CorSport and then got an email from them saying they are back ordered and have no clue how long the wait will be? If you have, how long did you wait?

GZ3 12-23-2010 04:22 PM

I did, have them installed, and love them! This injunction with AFE dryflow filters got me an 12rwhp...total cost.....................189 shipped for both....i waited about a week tops

BildoBastig 12-23-2010 04:25 PM

Awesome thanks for the reply :) Yea I really wanted to go this route.. Glad to hear you had success!

GZ3 12-23-2010 04:29 PM

let me recommend AFE dry flow filters too from autoanything AFE>K&N

BildoBastig 12-23-2010 04:39 PM

Why is that? just wondering? I have always had good success with KN, but always open

GZ3 12-23-2010 04:47 PM

Dry flow for one, never needs oil, And is washable and resuable...has a limited lifetime warranty. I did allot of research on other forums and the general opinion was AFE was better. Allot of people were saying that these filters flow as good as no filter at all. I saw a review of this on the BMW site

BildoBastig 12-23-2010 04:50 PM

That's cool.. yea i had already bought my KN's so dammit.. I got both brand new for 80 so it wasn't to bad I guess.. Live and learn.. I am already used to cleaning them cause I always used them so cleaning is really not an issue to me... Thanks for the help tho I will reply and tell them I am going to wait :)

Raven 12-23-2010 05:42 PM

let us now how long it takes for you to recieve them!

Did you have any other power mods before the intake? If so, what mods?

One_Quick_Z 12-23-2010 09:28 PM

I ordered them direct from HPs I paid a little more but got them in a couple days, those with my K&N Drop in filters are a nice combo.

nothing yet, i got bunch of stuff on order though

Azroadster 12-24-2010 08:01 AM

I got the HPS tubes from Corsport and had them in less than a week. I also have the K&N drop ins and a Stillen CBE. The tubes and filters definitely added some horsepower and it can be felt and heard. Don't know how much but my butt dyno records some.

Here's a picture of the HPS tubes installed.

Damm that looks hella clean, thanks for sharing!

6spd 12-24-2010 08:09 PM

i just got these and the red engine cover tonight for x-mas. i cant wait to install them! Ive already got the KN filters and the s-tune exhaust, which already sounds beast and feels fantastic, but im sure these will be a great addition.

Kastley85891 12-24-2010 08:56 PM

Interested to see what you think post install, Please post up.
I ran COBBs post MAF's a while back with drop ins but installed them at the same time, lets see if you notice anything.

atl370z 12-24-2010 09:21 PM

I am interesting in these tubes too

for sure! ive got a real keen sense of change so whatever i feel, ill post up.

Nikkolai 12-26-2010 01:52 PM

I had these for a while. The install was pretty easy except actually getting them to fit. I did not want to trim any pieces so I just worked my way around it. That was the only thing time consuming. I could have saved time and just trim away.

BTW, this is on a Nismo with drop in HKS filters. I don't have any other mods and I have not dyno'ed it yet.

i just installed mine, i like them, they look great and helped smooth the rpm range out, surprisingly, more than I anticipated. Helped add a bit of growl to the intake as well.

6spd 12-26-2010 04:41 PM

Here's my little review, just a bit I can add to what has already been said. I didn't buy these expecting any gains, just a subtle look and sound change. The hoses look great, they really do. Smooth tubes FTW, accordion FTL! Driving brought a nice sound change under acceleration, added a bit of growl, very much contributing to the natural Z sound. Coupled with the KN filters and my S-Tune exhaust, the sound is very... mature, refined even. I'm very pleased.

you got it pal! if you dont have an exhaust, youll be able to appreciate the sound change. just take your time installing them and try not to break anything:tup:

Sweet thanks.. I am not a car mechanic by any means but I do consider myself a decent craftsman.. I don't have an exhaust yet so I look forward to the change.. I am gonna use this in conjunction with some FI high flow cats and FI 18" exhaust.

6spd 01-02-2011 11:08 AM

best of luck to you!

Philipp 01-04-2011 01:19 PM

FYI I order theese a month ago hopping to have them for christmas... Still waiting!

P.S. The waiting isn't really that bad since the car is stored for winter... Just praying for them to arrived before April :driving:

where can i pick up the dry flow filters from?

GZ3 01-04-2011 01:38 PM

Here is my dyno with HPS intake pipes and AFE drop ins everything else 100% stock. This run was also done on 91 octane, unfortunately...They had some problems with TQ reading but 285RWHP was the final number. My previous 100% stock pull was 273, but the car was heat soaked like a mother....cannot for the life of me find the dyno

atl370z 01-04-2011 01:46 PM

Nice!!

Koji_Online 01-04-2011 02:46 PM

atl370z 01-04-2011 03:40 PM

I need them to push me over that 300whp mark :happydance:

Kastley85891 01-04-2011 03:50 PM

GZ3 01-04-2011 03:51 PM
