Excuse my ignorance, but I am interested in the finish where the entire tip is blue with a purple hue. The tips I am interested in are different however. I can send you pics if you like.

On another note: Going back to the power claims on this exhaust. Amuse claims a 21 HP increase.

1. Was this dyno done with JUST the rear section of the exhaust or with their Y Pipe also?
2. Do we know the torque gains?
3. I just noticed that Amuse used a 7AT car! WOW! I wonder why they opted for that over the MT....

No worries, I like your enthusiasm. Sorry for the confusion on the site.

The R1-Extra is 1.15kg, roughly 2lbs, lighter than the RS-Silent.

Currently we do not have any dynographs for the R1-Extra. Based on the form and design of each exhaust, I think it is safe to say that out of the box, the R1-Extra probably provides a little bit more back pressure and less weight; the RS-Silent has more potential for more power gains with other mods.

With the R1-Extra, when you order the exhaust, for an additional $200 you can upgrade the two 50mm piping to two 60mm piping. This option helps the R1-Extra with its potential for more horsepower gains with other mods.

Once we receive dyno charts from Amuse for the R1-Extra we will be posting those everywhere so keep checking back on our website and threads for updates.

This tip design is going to be standard on all Z34 Amuse exhausts for 2009 and the gold ring option is available for those that would like it  .

Are u talking about the R1 extra here or the RS Silent? Because you are saying that we can increase the two piping diameters from 50mm to 60mm but the R1 Extra only has one mid pipe before going into the mufflers. And also u say that the RS Silent has the potential for more power with other mods where as the R1 provides more backpressure...then u say the R1 extra has the potential for more power with other mods once the two pipings are upgraded??? Sorry for the confusion...trying to clear this up in my head. Which one can make more power?

Thank you for clarifying; I apologize for any confusion. It basically boils down to the options you go with. There are three options in terms of pipe designs that can determine the overall flow.

RS-Silent - most potential for more power due to design

R1-Extra-standard piping (dual 50mm) - great option for NA cars due to back pressure

R1-Extra-upgraded piping (60mm) - more potential than the standard R1-Extra for power

I hope this helps.

Any updates on the tune? Was it done with or without the Y Pipe?

Do you think more power could be had from it with the Y pipe and tune?

Black kNight 05-28-2009 02:47 AM

so which one is better RS-silent or R1 extra (60mm) ??

Endgame 05-28-2009 08:17 AM

BlackKnight,

To my understanding, it depends on your goals. Due to the R1 having more backpressure, if you only plan on doing light mods (intake, exhaust, tune), the R1 is the better option.

If you plan on going FI, the RS Silent is the better option as it flows more. If you plan to get really radical with the NA mods, the R1 with the increase in diameter piping is the solution.

370Z Tune correct me if I am wrong.....

I believe more power could be had with this exhaust with the front pipe and tune. HFC might help as well.

We recently received the July issue of Option Magazine which shows a few of the processes and craftsmanship that goes into making an Amuse exhaust. Unfortunately it is all in Japanese so bare with me ;)

Pretty cool. Tell them we want pics on the aero parts!!

We recently received an MCR exhaust that we ordered for a Z33 client a few weeks back. Since this exhaust was produced by Nippon Steel, the same fabricators of Amuse exhaust, I thought it was fit to post. Please tell me what you think. Our usual camera ran out of battery so we had to resort to a less qualified camera :driving:
