Smile Question on the Y-Pipe option

But, I have a question I'm hoping someone can provide feedback on. I did the muffler delete with a muffler shop fabricating some straight pipes (I know many on this board don't care for that mod but I really like the sound) and my question is, would there be any benefit to adding a Y-pipe for sound and/or performance?

I know it is the cheaper route than doing a full CBE (Meisterschaft is my preference) but I just don't have the funds to get the CBE I really want.

Good idea/bad idea/save my $$$ for a full CBE?!?! Thanks in advance.

The two largest restrictions of the stock exhaust system are 1) the catalytic converters and 2) the OEM Y pipe. I would definately recommend the JIC Y pipe to go along with your custom Y-pipe back exhaust because that will give you the full power gains of a true CBE and will still cost less than a brand name cat-back with similar gains.

Thanks. This was what I was hoping to hear so I'll definitely be going this route.
