I highly suggest AAM shortails as the way to go if you want a louder exhaust without spending 1200 all at once. AAM also makes an h pipe that is similar to the nismo exhaust that you can bolt up to the shorttails at a later time

I'd buy 304SS tips, 5ft of 304SS pipe and have a shop make some for me for under $150. If you wanna be under $100 just use normal steel pipe. Since you're leaving the rest of the exhaust steel why not the axle back too? Parts will be about $41!!

hes right, opening the exhaust no more than two millimeters will cause the exhaust to become three times as hot, therefore melting right through your multiple heat shields you have down there and exploding your gas tank while your driving past a crowd of people at a mall on a friday night.

Lmao. You know steel melts at like 2750 and exhaust gets no hotter than 1600 at the header right?

washer mod is better than buying an axle back exhaust only to buy a full CBE later

IMO
CBE>Washer mod>Axle Back

yea maybe for you but i currently have the AAM shortails and if i want the full CBE, all i have to do is buy the midpipe and it will fit.

i was being sarcastic man. the one guy is concerned about "burning stuff up" with the washer mod.

Yeah, that's exactly what I said, Captain Hyperbole. I'm more concerned with the softer stuff under the car, like rubber bushings and wires. The exhaust gas itself is much hotter than the pipe, and now it's coming out in all directions. The point where the leak is created is fairly close to the diff bushings and what looks like the wires to the wheel speed sensors for the ABS system. The heat shield is under where the muffler is located, and you've created a leak in front of it. Nothing's going to break immediately, but the excess heat is not great over the long term.

there no excess heat! i dont know where youre getting this? how does making an exhaust leak make the exhaust "hotter"??? it doesnt? and its not "coming out in all directions" ive seen people with the washer "mod" start thier cars in the morning after sitting all night in the cold and you can clearly see that the exhaust actually still comes out of the muffler. SMALL SMALL amounts of exhaust actually come out of the leak you create from a washer mod because the gap is so minimal. but i totally agree its not good to have the leak even though it wont do anything to damage your vehicle unless you have a HUGE gap and you put way too many washers in there. the only thing we agree on here is that the washer mod should not be a permanent fix to the crap stock exhaust

HEARING "washer mod" makes me shake my head from disbelief

Let's just agree to disagree. Obviously you've never seen rubber parts degraded over time due to heat. FYI, the gas inside the exhaust pipe is hotter than the pipe itself, often substantially so.
