ive got the s-tune exhaust right now, along with the filters and tubes. I love the way the car feels/sounds/drives/etc. I wont go back to the FI. As far as a/f goes, with bolt ons, you wont have to worry as pretty much all the dynos we see have fine ratios, not perfect, but fine enough for general use. tuning will change the dynamics of the computer with respect to timing, fuel delivery, etc. to achieve a perfect a/f ratio and maximum power. you can, though, put your cbe, cai and hfc's on without a tune without a problem, but if you want to suck every available bit of power out of the motor with that setup, you'll need a tune.
btw, my name is JJ, haha, yours too?

The dyno does not have a before / after shot if I remember right. It just had three runs with the tubes, two of which had 275, 275 and then one with like 286 or something. However, the post says he cannot find his baseline so I dont know if those others are the baselines..?
It's a weird dyno graph too, instead of HP/TQ x RPM its HP x MPH. Just looking for a comparo dyno for before/after with just tubes.

I have one in my dyno thread...
EDIT: Actually, correction -- I forgot that the dyno of the HPS tubes is after a bunch of other mods were on. Not the same comparison you guys are looking for.

Thanks for the reply! I am trying to get the most out of the car without doing any warranty voiding mods (i.e. tune) and this really helps!
I think I will go with the MXP exhaust. It gives a gain on the stock system, has a great sound, but with a 60mm diameter, stays pretty close to the stock set-up and hopefully wont lose too much in the low end. My first name is J... and for some reason a few friends gave me the nickname JJ lol... |

I too would like to order these tubes and the drop in filters but can someone please tell me if this will cause any issues with my future smog inspection
I'm currently running on FI with stock cat Thanks

No offense intended but I'm seriously doubting that the HPS tubes give you 12 RWHP. I had the Cobb PMAF tubes (same thing) with K&N drop in filters and dyno'd 270whp before and 275whp after with 5 hp gain consistently from 4k up. Not sure why the HPS tubes would suddenly add 12 RWHP for just a bit smoother airflow. How were the outside temps/humidity/car temp/oil temp on the two seperate dyno days?

I added them on as mod number four, and gains were in the 3-5 whp throughout the powerband ballpark, which is much more likely.
