But when it came to the 370Z I heard there where a lot of fitment issues the tips stuck out to far and its a little tame in the sound department. FI gives you a choice from mild with the 18in Resonated Cat-Back to wild with there Non-Resonated Cat-Back. I also think it looks better.
Didn't have this problem at all, it was probably installed incorrectly. The sound is great, especially with some HFC's.

Type it into the search. It was a problem with alot of the systems sold.

If you don't mind a little extra cab drone, great customer service and great looking tips, go FI.

If you want a heavier, quieter exhaust that has ridiculously large tips that stick past the bumper, get Stillen.

Good luck with your choice

PS: I wouldn't rule out the BERK CBE

"exhaust that has ridiculously large tips that stick past the bumper, get Stillen." A little bit over the top don’t you think!

Stillen are not quieter they just sound nicer and richer, minus drone IMO.

Will provide sound clip once mines are installed! See link Best Exhaust?

Both seem to be popular. You should consider the HKS too. I like mine and AK did a nice write up on his here:

From a non-bias opinion, I think the tips stick out to far IMO. GTM makes a nice exhaust but the tips don't do it for me. Stillen is still a good exhaust and you can always have the tips aligned or changed out for that matter. After doing all my research on CBE Stillen was deemed heavy, expensive, and ugly tips" in my book. I am not trying to rain on anybodies parade so take all this as someones opinion. Good luck with your install Alex.

You can adjust them from being about an inch before the cutouts to four inches or so past them...I don't get why everybody is acting like this is a drawback when it is just a poor installation job!! Not liking the tips is one thing and subjective so whatever, but they fit perfect with about a minute or two of alignment

Default About Stillen

Greetings all.

I'm fairly new to this forum and this is my first reply. I installed a Stillen Cat-back and Berk HFCs. Stillen because it is not lower than stock and Berk because they are OBDII compliant. The sound is not quiet, for me, and I would not want it any louder. Fitment on the Stillen is poor, at best. The left tip was perfectly centered and the right tip was inboard one half inch. Also, the tips are not equal fore and aft. The mechanic who installed the system said there is no adjustment, so I took it to a custom exhaust specialist of 34 years. He was able to heat and tweek the hangers to get the tips equally misaligned. Fore and aft, no. The other option was to cut and reweld the tips, which I didn't do yet.

Stillen's answer was "sorry, you mounted and ran the exhuast, we will not take it back." So basically their return policy is, if you don't like the way it looks in the box, send it back. Thanks, Max and Chuck at Stillen. Pesonally I will no longer support Stillen for their lack of support regarding their product.

I am also sorry my first reply is negative feedback. I've been following this forum since March of this year and purchased my 2010 370Z in May. I do like this forum and love my Z.

Regards,

Glad you like yours. I don't like the tips (personal opinion) and it looks like WGJB had issues like others have.

The OP will have "0" fitment issues with the FI CBE. Good choice

Everyone's entitled to their own research and opinion, that being said , you could have just said Stillen just don’t do it for you, for whatever reasons in a better way IMO , but when you start using words like “ridiculously “ to describe those reason that a different issue!

“If you want a heavier, quieter exhaust that has ridiculously large tips that stick past the bumper, get Stillen.” Sorry in my book that’s over the top!

And no you didn’t rain on my parade; I’m very much looking forward to having the Stillen exhaust installed.

The exhaust will be here tomorrow, and installed the next day.

As I said I’ll try to post a video sound clip.

Alex
