Cleaning my F.I. exhaust tips?

Have you tried metal/aluminum polisher from your local PepBoys or auto store? I cleaned my door handles and exhaust tips last year. It doesn't last long but it's better than

Have you tried metal/aluminum polisher from your local PepBoys or auto store?

I cleaned my door handles and exhaust tips last year. It doesn't last long but it's better than not having ANY protection at all.
