Berk HFC's added to Nismo Catback system

Also cleared the learned values as suggested by Berk Tech. [in an earlier post] as part of the install. A suggestion to Berk: These instructions should be included with the Berk HFC's.

This mod. not only made a Big difference in sound but also a very good increase of butt pressure at regular acceletration and WOT. Definitely an improvement in performance. I also have the Stillen Gen. 3 intakes so this has helped make this package work better.

The Berk exhaust system also sounds good but I like the look of the Nismo exhaust tips much better.

So the O2 readings will be different. Most of the time the thresholds of CEL or no CEL are large enough that the ECU will readapt and the CEL will stay off. However some of you who were already operating on the outer range will pass that threshold after a few drive cycles and illuminate the CEL light.

During driving situations where the engine sees load it will completely ignore the secondary O2 sensor and go off of it's pre-programs maps. On one of our race cars we actually did not use any O2 sensors at all! We would run completely off the pre-programed maps on the stand alone. We would make small tweaks to the maps for high altitude race tracks and summer/winter weather.

So, the moral of the story..... the secondary O2 sensors technically DO make tiny fuel adjustments in concert with the primary wide band sensor in the header, but only to make the car run as clean and lean as possible during steady cruise. From the stand point of the car enthusiast, they don't do squat!

And to set the record straight in plain black and white:

Berk HFC's are not SMOG legal in CA. Can they pass a sniffer test? Yes, all the time. But Berk Technology does not guarantee emmisions performance.

The vast majority of you will never thorw a CEL. However there is a very small percentage of you who will throw the occasional P0420/P0430 CEL. Down the road there will also be a very small percentage of you who throw those CEL codes with the OEM cats!

CRAP!! That exhaust is SICK!! What makes it sound like that? Is it Ti???

Of all the posted sound clips thr AAM setup sounds the best. The exhaust note has alot of sustained bottom and heft compared to the others. It also has a strong power sound when opened up wide.

The only one that sounded better (didn't see a sound clip in this post for it) when I ran across it on some other site was the SACLAM setup.

Hey guys I'm going home today, just wanted to know if anyone was interested in vids of the stock system with test pipes. I don't know if it's been done yet I'd be willing if it'd help the forum out.

Enroute 4-6 weeks, rear section only...for now I need to become a fan of the y-pipe setup first.

I'd be interested. I'm wondering how much rasp it adds compared to HFCs.

Interesting video: F.I. CBE with 12' res. + HFC and F.I. CBE with 18' resonators.

Listening it I was confused about first configuration: it sounds different from it YouTube - 370Z Fast Intentions TDX Exhaust and Berk HFC and from what tony (Fast Intentions) posted with same configuration... why?

P.S. In Fast Intentions CBE, the carbon fiber option for final mufflers changes sound note in comparison with SS option?
