ERZ Performance High Flow Cats, Install and Review Thread

Hmm, don't know what to say about the curvature of the triple bolt flange. I don't recall having quite as crude a junction between the inner tubing and the flanges

Hmm, don't know what to say about the curvature of the triple bolt flange. I don't recall having quite as crude a junction between the inner tubing and the flanges as you have there. IIRC, mine looked like your pic with the two bolt flange directly facing the camera...you can see the inner pipe just inside the flange, but there weren't any gaps or beads of weld coming through.

I'm thinking the curved flange will be ok once everything is tightened up. If I have a leak I'm sure ERZ will take care of it.

It seems like the gap in the flange and tubing is pretty similar to the last pic in your original post.

It's a little hard to tell since that part of the picture isn't in focus though.

I have curved flanges too on my ERZ HFC's. Not sure if this is an issue or not. Interested on what ERZ has to say about it.

I am hoping that the consistancy with the curves means that they intended to do this.

Yeah, I wouldn't make too much of this until someone has personally spoken with ERZ or had an issue after install. They are very receptive to phone calls and will give you a good answer.

My install went very smoothly and I've had no issues with any leaks or problem. Given the consistency of the findings, I'd talk with ERZ before jumping to too many negative conclusions.

When you do the install can you get a pic of the stock cats insides and the ERZ insides for a side by side comparison, to see how much less the restriction is? Reps if you can, thanks.

Yeah please ask them about the tubing sticking out in the inlet. I don't think grinding away at it is really even an option since it doesn't look like there's much material there to work with.

I just looked at my stock cats the other day. The difference is ENORMOUS! The stock cats are much more restrictive looking (densely packed).

give me a call tomorrow I can switch that one for you, seem like the welder was lazy that day doing that one.

I'll send that one back to the factory and get it grind.

Well now...don't I wish I looked mine over more thoroughly. Fortunately they're performing really well. But who wants to have to do their own quality control?

What about the flange curvature all these guys have been noticing?

Awesome! Thanks for taking care of it. I'll give you a call on Friday to work out the details.
