Ordered Z1 CAI

Just ordered this. Anyone have any tips on install? There's normally something little with these sort of installs that make it easier, or the "if you would have known beforehand",

Install is really simple, I can't imagine you'll have a problem. Just check out the Bumper Removal DIY in the DIY's section, and clean your throttle bodies while you have everything apart.

Yeah, take the opportunity to do what you can while your car is apart. Worst part is the bumper honestly. The rest is really easy and they put instructions in the box.

The only thing I can think of is towards the front before your stock intake boxes is a removable opening that allows the opening to be bigger (mechanical terms). I removed mine and then you don't have to force the elbow tubing through it. I don't remember if that's on the instructions.

Also I used this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF3dp_ujLfM

The bumper is not hard at all. If it wasn't for the DRLs I could take it off by myself in maybe 15 min. It's only a handful of bolts and a good wiggle to pop it off the mounts. Someone has to hold it while the lights are unplugged, so grab a buddy if you have DRLs

Yeah, don't try to remove those stupid pass through rectangle plastic things (air inlets for the stock box) by the radiator without removing the stupid bolt holding them. It'll look like the bolt is for the radiator support structure when no... it's for those stupid plastic things.

It just didn't jump out at me when I skimmed through the instructions and I learned they won't remove even if you're fairly strong/angry.

Also, I didn't need to remove the bottom bolts holding the bumper on... it can flip forward and pivot enough to provide clearance so you won't have to fiddle with disconnecting the DR LED's.

I found it extremely easy to remove those inlets. It was like one screw per side. As for the drls, leave them connected. Just lay the bumper on the ground in front of the car.

Exactly what I did. Set cardboard down and laid the bumper on it.
