New Exhaust "DING"

Any possibility of a video of this exhaust? I'm really interested in something a bit more than stock but not obnoxious like motordyne or berk. So far I was considering

Leaving it stock
OEM Nismo
Nismo S tune
Tanabe Racing Medallion
Nismo R tune

If R tune has a bit more sound than S or OEM Nismo but still doesn't drone on the highway I'd go for it.

Look into the Borla as well. It's a more aggressive OEM sound.

Would also like to see a video of the R tune.

I've had the Berk HFC and CBE and it is far from obnoxious. Almost can't hear it unless you go WOT. No drone, and the fit and finish was awesome.

You can hear it in a video that I took at the track last month...

The R-Tune is definitely high-flowing and sounds nothing like the stock exhaust. It is aggressive under throttle, yet there is absolutely no cabin drone. Aside from the resonator issue, which was most likely an anomaly, I am very happy with the system overall. The muffler cans tuck up nicely under the rear bumper and aren't subject to scraping.

Oh... I should mention this: the tips that come with the R-Tune exhaust are small diameter--they will NOT fill up the cut-outs on a 2015+ Nismo. I had my AAM titanium short tail tips put on instead of the stock tips.

EDIT: I'll work on getting video and pics this weekend for you all.

Sorry for drudging up a year old thread, but did you just get the one faulty resonator replaced or both for even flow? I'm experiencing the exact same issues with a newly installed r-tune cbe.

I just installed the R Tune as well over the weekend. I noticed a sort of "ding" noise a couple times on the first drive on the highway, I assume the exhaust wasn't fully heated up yet. Since that first time I don't recall noticing the noise while driving. Do we think this could possibly be part of break-in?

I will hear creak or ding noises after I've turned the car off and it's cooling down, but as we know metal contracts and expands with heat, it being a multi-piece system it's bound to make noise.

Where did you guys buy your R Tunes from? I got mine from CZP and they said they hadn't heard of this issue happening, but I did forward them this thread to look into it just in case. I am certainly keeping my ear out in case the noise starts to happen more frequently on the road.

Mine was purchased from Dynosty. After a few weeks I'm use to the noise but it'll still get pretty damn annoying near a wall. I'll post an update if it ever goes away (hoping a few WOT runs might blow something out).

Just to follow up, the noise on mine has actually gotten more persistent. I've contacted CZP about it and sent them a video. They agree it isn't normal and have sent a report to Nismo. I'm going to try to return mine, I've already placed an order for a Fast Intentions CBE with 18" resonators.

It was just one resonator as far as we could isolate; however, I had them both cut out and just replaced with the stock ones. I'm sorry that you're experiencing this, as it's very frustrating. It seems to be a QC issue on the manufacturing end.

I thought it was from the expanding/contracting of the heated exhaust as well, but it wasn't (well, not in the sense of normal operation--obviously it was expanding/contracting within a faulty resonator). It was a very loud and noticeable "DING" that happened about every 45 seconds and lasted for several minutes after I shut the car off. It was definitely coming from one of the resonators. We spent a long time listening and isolating. After the resonator change, I've not had any more issues and I LOVE this exhaust.

I bought my exhaust from Z1.

Following up for anyone else experiencing this issue. After a year with them installed and over 15k miles the noise isn't so bad. Only ever hear it when it's hot out, and the Z is ran for a while. It definitely calmed down and 90% of the time my windows are down and I'm in a lane next to a wall so I would hear the echo pretty well. So there is hope without replacing the resonators.
