Default Magnaflow Mufflers + resonators

I have a stock Roadster and want to make it sound like a real Z. Deep throaty and not loud and annoying, just loud enough to let the big V8's know Im there..lol
Im not looking for any performance gains, and zero to very little drone noise as I drive the Z on long distance trips now and then.

A local shop recommended Magnaflow mufflers and resonators. Does anybody have any experience with this setup?

Another shop suggested deleting the stock resonators and if not happy, adding the resonators back and adding no name mufflers (cheaper, but Im not really digging this idea)

Any feedback would be appreciated!

If you take out the resonators you WILL have raspy high pitched annoying sounds. Sounds like you just want a little sound so go with an axle back muffler change.

Getting rid of the resonators will give you drone. That's literally their job, to remove it.

I've always liked Magnaflow mufflers. Supposedly the first Fast Intentions exhausts used them.

Is the Magnaflow set up recommended to me be considered an axleback? Do I really need the Magnaflow resonators or can I stick with the stock ones?

Yeah, when the second shop told me he would delete the resonators, I asked wouldnt that make the drone prominent? He told me no, that the muffler handled the drone! ugh..

I went from a muffler delete to a custom dual 2.5" setup with a Magnaflow muffler as the X pipe basically. I cannot overstate how much better the custom exhaust is, drone is all but gone and I can have a conversation in the car while cruising without having to shout.

I didn't use any resonators and I honestly don't see that they are needed but exhaust sound is always subjective.

Cold start is a little loud but it quiets down when warm (like every other exhaust I've heard)

not the best picture in the world but, proof it fits. They would have to use 90's off the cats and then another 90 into the muffler
