Nismo R-Tune Exhaust?
When was this a thing? I could've sworn I've never seen this.
I know some people liked to call the OEM version the "R-Tune". This has a likewise H pipe but different muffler section. https://www.z1motorsports.com/exhaus...m-p-12168.html Maybe overpriced but I'm so curious to how it sounds. |

That said, I would see if you can find a used OEM Nismo one, taken off someone's vehicle. Odds are it will sound just as good and make about as much power as the R tune at a bargain. |

Already got the OEM Nismo catback setup. Just wish the muffler section was as nice as this. I guess there's always AAM if I get a deal on a used axle back. |

I'd save the money, stick with what ya got  |
Also curious, I can't find a single thing about it anywhere. Not even Z1 has clear photos.
Like is it designed only for Nismo's and will stick out for non-nismo? |

Nice! That has to be louder than the OEM Nismo exhaust. I mean, your grandma's Corolla is louder than stock Nismo exhaust. I don't understand why Nissan decided to make their Nismo version of the 370Z quieter than a Maxima. It was the only thing that annoyed me when I first got my '16 Nismo.
That R-Tune Nismo exhaust is what these cars should've originally come with from the factory IMHO. |
I'm interested in how this exhaust sounds! I was originally going to get either Tanabe or Nismo S tune...now that this has been released I'm curious.
Has anyone installed this exhaust yet on a stock car? |
Looks like the just updated the site with clear photos.
Are there any similar true dual exhausts? I'd guess it'll sound similar to the AAM Competition R-Line, but slightly more muffled. |

Anyone get this exhaust yet? I can't find a video anywhere!
|
If they no longer offer the S tune, it's probably just an updated model based on the standard Nismo.
On that note, is the exhaust for the refreshed Nismo the same as it was for previous years? If not, I bet this is the same one as that, maybe with slightly shorter tailpipes to better fit the non-nismo bumper. |
i'm waiting for mine to get here from japan :) but i'm just gonna use the midpipes of the r tune and use my meisterschaft axleback
|
Correct me if I am wrong, but this sure looks alot like the AAM S-Line/R-Line exhaust. Sure the resonators look larger, but overall the design looks the same. Great minds think alike perhaps.
I have the AAM version of this and it is louder but also works great too. |

When you say high flowing, have you had it dyno'd or is that just your impression from driving it? Keen to understand how rwhp compares.
Unlike most folk I really like how quiet the OEM exhaust is at city and highway speeds so I can talk to passengers, enjoy music, not get headaches etc. I'd just like something with more noise and power for back road high rpm driving. Don't know if such an exhaust exists but thinking maybe Nismo would do that. Also can you describe the sound it makes? - I don't really like the exhausts that give the Z a 'trumpet' type sound. Prefer the 'Mercedes AMG' type sound of a Borla (but which doesn't look as sharp as this Nismo R exhaust). Thanks for your time if you see this and reply. Sorry for all the questions, I just couldn't see anything on Youtube about this exhaust. |

I did have an issue with the exhaust right after it was installed. One of resonators blew a weld and would make a really loud "ding". Once we figured out the issue, I had the shop just change out the resonators with the ones from my stock exhaust and problem solved. The only "negative" about the exhaust is for it being a NISMO part, the exhaust tips are really small in diameter and will not fill up the bumper cut-outs on a 2015+ NISMO (not sure about 2014- model NISMOs). |
Thank you, I really appreciate those insights. I'll keep an eye out just in case you get the video up before I make a decision.
|
Anyone else get a video of this thing yet?
|
Also looking for a video or picture of this installed.
|
|
I imagine it's quieter on stock cats, but that actually sounds pretty nice imo.

strongly reminds me of fast intentions

Reminds me of a Civic :wtf2:

OEM Nismo vs Nismo R-tune
I believe the OEM Nismo exhaust is 2.25" while the R-tune is 2.5"
I believe the muffler is more direct as well when it comes to flow path. It's going to make more power over stock. I'm going to get mine tuned with Z1 intakes, header, and test pipes. I'll let you know what I put down. |

I attempted to post a pic of my R-Tune exhaust 3 days ago but it says, "Your post will not be visible until a moderator has approved it for posting." Wtf?

I drove a 2020 Nismo before I made a decision on another exhaust system. I couldn't tell the sound difference in the Nismo exhaust and my stock one. I got the R-Tune.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE! The R-Tune makes it a different car. The sound is certainly louder, but much more melodious. There is no drone and you can just hear it at cruise. Worth every penny. |
I am thinking of buying the r-tune exhaust... I have a Nismo trim but it's too quiet!
|
I can't find one for sale anywhere!!!
Does anyone know where I can find an r-tune exhaust for sale? |

It's my understanding that the Nismo R-Tune exhaust is discontinued and no longer available.
