Default Does my 2016 370z AT require a custom tune ?

Hi eveyone I recently have put on a nismo r-tuned short ram cold air intake and a nismo cat back exhaust on my 2016 370z AT. I heard with the r-tuned you might need a custom tune. To me the car does feel alittle sluggish and seems not as quick as before the upgrades. Im not looking for big gains of power just a little more response. I heard the R- tuned parts void the warranty as well . And If I do tune the car I will be using Uprev. Bottom line I feel my z could do better.

Thank you in advance

The rule-of-thumb is:
Intake mods OR exhaust mods - no tune required.
Intake mods AND exhaust mods - tune required.

YMMV

Well required is a strong word. I wouldn't say required as I did my intake and exhaust and still picked up gains, if I remember right my peak gain were actually higher than my over shelf tuned gain but overall gain and safety air fuel ratio the shelf tune was much better. Oh and I was final custom dyno tuned in the end but the off the shelf tune was really close.

Now if asking is a tune worth it? Then yes the tune was much better for me. More response, more power down low, safer (no knock/ping) and a smoother idle as an added bonus which is noticeable (always wonder why oem are so eager to push idle speed to the limit that the engine is unhappy). After tune idle felt like a MB v8 that I have on multiple occasions been guilty of trying to start an already running engine (thank god the PCM controls the starter or I would have had some embarrassing moments in the shop).
