Default Muffler Delete + Test Pipes?

Anyone running a muffler Delete + test pipes? Any power loss? I took the muffler off and it is still too quiet for my liking and I'm not a fan of any aftermarket exhaust other than motordyne although here in Australia it will cost A LOT so looking at changing the cats to test pipes or HFC until I can afford the motordyne cbe

Hi JaykeZ. I am running muffler delete with HFC and can say this.

1. It is incredibly loud - test pipes will be even louder.
2. I enjoyed having a pointlessly loud car that could mess up my hearing above 3500 rpm.
3. The glee I got from the loudness lasted around 1-1.5 years.
4. Now I am getting new exhaust with mufflers.
5. Loud is fun but does not equal hp/kw.

The more technical among us will likely say that you might lose a few hp from the lack of back pressure. But if that is the case it is not noticeable.

More so you should be thinking about what DB level you are comfortable with. If I had known that having a car that shakes your insides when it starts would ever get old - I could have saved some money. So I think your best bet for the long run is to save up for a quality exhaust - It will still be plenty loud with either test pipes or HFC.

Since you are already looking at exhaust upgrades - focus on maximizing the power benefits first.

Thanks for the reply your recommendation would be to get HFC/Test Pipes + stay with stock exhaust for hp gains? then when I have the funds available spend that on the catback exhaust?
