Default Fabricating my own axleback

I want a set of short tails, but I don't want to spend $650. The e-bay alternatives have the tips stuck out way too far for my liking, and they'd still cost nearly $500 by the time I had them in my hands. I have a friend who does some fabricating and he thinks we can make up a system pretty easily. Going to buy a couple of stainless UJ bends, flanges and gaskets from a local auto parts store. But I'm stuck on what to do about tips. Can anyone make a suggestion as to where to buy a couple of exhaust tips that are decent quality but still reasonably priced? Preferably weld on, polished stainless with 2.5" inlet and 4-5" outlet. Thanks.

A muffler shop can probably make your azleback for less than that. And it will be mandrel bent not joints. Tips you can find just about anywhere online, local shops or even crappy tire. The muffler shop may or may not have nice rolled tips but they aren't hard to find.
