D. O. A. ?
|
Some one did dino back in September
https://youtu.be/MrSQVYaxvic |
so what were the results? lol
|
I bet AAM bribed or threatened every one who preordered one not to say anything. Other vise where are those 20 people.
I was in China back in December saw the factory where it was made and actual manifold it looked realy ruff inside and out i bet not what aam expected thats why there was a deleay on delivery for preorders. Dyno numbers probably roll oposite direction thats why we dont see it. Most likly useles for NA cars even just for the looks. |
Yeah, if it made power their shill would be in here shouting it from the rooftops. Silence means only one thing.

Whats interesting is the Z on the dyno. on U-Tube Is a right hand driver.

The tuning shop from video is in UK
|
That's because it's Pauls Z here in the UK. Afaik he and me are the only two UK recipients of the manifold but I am still waiting for mine. I shall hope they made some design improvements after they stopped shipment after the one and only(?) manifold to Paul. Why else would there be a hold-up

At least they tried :ugh2:

I'll be installing this in a month or so. Stand by for numbers. I would've hope for some official stats by now but this only shows how well AAM stands behind their products when they can't prove how well they perform.
|
Subd just for these numbers and the comments :). Man a year and still no parts for people or dyno it's almost impressive.

AAM Competition - Nissan GT-R, 370Z Turbo Performance Specialists
If you look at the pictures its like the tenth one in. not sure if posted but I was on there website and saw the dyno run. Looks good for boosted car's. Picks up a big part in the middle of the power band, but lose a little up top. what do you guys think? |
Quote:
Why would something that flows as well as they claim lose power up top? |
got me? i just saw the numbers and put them up ! Maybe to much flow?
|
Im curious to see if this was tuned or just slapped on. The graph doesn't look smooth at all.
|
Well I guess it looks cool :roflpuke2: $2750 for the CF inserts and black powdercoating :rofl2:

I Just got mine after 2 months and 3 weeks, I am completely sad I fill like crying, don't buy it, its ugly, that black dot at the left entrance where the throttle body is suppose to attached is actually a hole.

Send it back & demand a refund.
What a POS. What sort of Moron would send it out with a casting flaw such as that hole. I'd be pissed too. |

Either way, they are charging premium prices, and not delivering a premium product. It should arrive with a more finished look in my opinion. Even on the website pictures don't look much better than a rough casting. |
Jeez that finish looks worse than the upper intake on my '04 v6 Mustang.

Wow I didn't think it could get any worse than when I left this thread....AAM is still fcuking this up....speechless
Sorry roky0101 for the disappointment. |

Get a refund :twocents: Send it back Discount Tire style if you have to ... |
For the money they're asking, powder coating should have been included.
That's China quality. |

The hole you are referring to is not a leak-point, and is part of the manifold design. I've attached some pictures from our product page, which depict these holes as well. They are reliefs/through holes for the hardware which mounts the throttle body to the manifold flange and pose no performance or structural issues. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...ps5koouktz.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...pscdjnmlcv.jpg http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e1...ps8emuhe3a.jpg As for the finish, the raw aluminum is meant to be an option for those who wish to provide their own custom coating rather than having AAM Competition powder coat the manifold. We offer black powder coating at no additional charge, as this intake manifold is intended to be given a proper finish. |

http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...psvb45ts4z.jpg Also, the from what I can see, the insides weren't even cleaned up. There are left over aluminum flaps right by the intake inlets. http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...pss270kwjj.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...psniqoesda.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f3...psaibobpem.jpg |
Thanks for the real pics :tup::tup:
|
That looks unacceptable for that price point
|
Fark that, no thanks.
I wonder if AAM will cover you for damage to your engine if some of that crap comes a drift & gets ingested. Me thinks not. |

:gtfo2:wow what garbage.. 2 grand for a that trash.
|
Well Those are interesting photos that just proves the point that it's poorly manufactured. And what would worry me is if some of that casting flash breaks off and gets digested in the engine you can just kissed you engine good by.
If they had been smart when they design this they would have made it 2 pieces, with a removable cover which would have allowed you to get into the plenums and clean up the runners. It's just a bad deal no matter how you look at. |
[QUOTE=1cintron;3615991]Patrick, the piece quality is pretty "rough". Even if you were to get it powder coated, it requires a good amount of prepping. The one I receive has lots of dings at least.
PM'd, check your messages. |
Regardless of finish or anything, there is still no info on whether or not there are any gains which means there probably aren't.
