so what were the results? lol

Z Runner 01-20-2017 08:44 AM

I bet AAM bribed or threatened every one who preordered one not to say anything. Other vise where are those 20 people.

I was in China back in December saw the factory where it was made and actual manifold it looked realy ruff inside and out i bet not what aam expected thats why there was a deleay on delivery for preorders.

Dyno numbers probably roll oposite direction thats why we dont see it. Most likly useles for NA cars even just for the looks.

Chuck33079 01-20-2017 08:55 AM

Yeah, if it made power their shill would be in here shouting it from the rooftops. Silence means only one thing.

Boss_302 01-20-2017 09:54 AM

Whats interesting is the Z on the dyno. on U-Tube Is a right hand driver.

Z Runner 01-20-2017 11:57 AM

The tuning shop from video is in UK

V1H 01-20-2017 01:28 PM

That's because it's Pauls Z here in the UK. Afaik he and me are the only two UK recipients of the manifold but I am still waiting for mine. I shall hope they made some design improvements after they stopped shipment after the one and only(?) manifold to Paul. Why else would there be a hold-up

I'll be installing this in a month or so. Stand by for numbers. I would've hope for some official stats by now but this only shows how well AAM stands behind their products when they can't prove how well they perform.

Ghost116 01-29-2017 09:40 PM

Subd just for these numbers and the comments :). Man a year and still no parts for people or dyno it's almost impressive.

AAM Competition - Nissan GT-R, 370Z Turbo Performance Specialists

If you look at the pictures its like the tenth one in.

not sure if posted but I was on there website and saw the dyno run. Looks good for boosted car's. Picks up a big part in the middle of the power band, but lose a little up top. what do you guys think?

Why would something that flows as well as they claim lose power up top?

hc_416 02-04-2017 12:54 PM

got me? i just saw the numbers and put them up ! Maybe to much flow?

SS_Firehawk 02-04-2017 01:58 PM

Im curious to see if this was tuned or just slapped on. The graph doesn't look smooth at all.

James10694 02-04-2017 07:36 PM

Well I guess it looks cool :roflpuke2: $2750 for the CF inserts and black powdercoating :rofl2:

I Just got mine after 2 months and 3 weeks, I am completely sad I fill like crying, don't buy it, its ugly, that black dot at the left entrance where the throttle body is suppose to attached is actually a hole.

Same on mine... Look inside by the throttle body openings, mine had some leftover casting crap in there (both sides).

rovert 02-11-2017 07:23 PM

Send it back & demand a refund.
What a POS.
What sort of Moron would send it out with a casting flaw such as that hole.
I'd be pissed too.

That's scary, is it all the way through? Clearly there is no quality control, as anyone would have seen that.

Either way, they are charging premium prices, and not delivering a premium product. It should arrive with a more finished look in my opinion. Even on the website pictures don't look much better than a rough casting.

JTM88 02-11-2017 08:00 PM

Jeez that finish looks worse than the upper intake on my '04 v6 Mustang.

Yes mine too, also on the holes for the screws i took some off, but there is still some in there that i couldn't reach.

No bro is not all the way through, but still you know, even though on the website pictures don't look much better doesn't look this ugly either. i have to be honest they did offer a free powder coating for the long waiting time, wish to i answer no, but because my goal was to polish it and have it really shiny to mash the tubes of my stillen intake but now i'am regretting i said no lol, because the finish is really ugly i don't think polishing it will make it any better, i might need to sand it, grind it, and don't know what else.

cv129 02-12-2017 12:20 AM

Wow I didn't think it could get any worse than when I left this thread....AAM is still fcuking this up....speechless

Sorry roky0101 for the disappointment.

You know, they could have powdercoated it for you for another $600 - it might have even covered up that hole :wtf2:

Get a refund :twocents: Send it back Discount Tire style if you have to ...

Boss_302 02-12-2017 07:17 AM

For the money they're asking, powder coating should have been included.
That's China quality.

Hey Roky, check your PM's.

The hole you are referring to is not a leak-point, and is part of the manifold design. I've attached some pictures from our product page, which depict these holes as well. They are reliefs/through holes for the hardware which mounts the throttle body to the manifold flange and pose no performance or structural issues.

As for the finish, the raw aluminum is meant to be an option for those who wish to provide their own custom coating rather than having AAM Competition powder coat the manifold. We offer black powder coating at no additional charge, as this intake manifold is intended to be given a proper finish.

Patrick, the piece quality is pretty "rough". Even if you were to get it powder coated, it requires a good amount of prepping. The one I receive has lots of dings at least.

Also, the from what I can see, the insides weren't even cleaned up. There are left over aluminum flaps right by the intake inlets.

That looks unacceptable for that price point

rovert 02-14-2017 10:26 PM

Fark that, no thanks.
I wonder if AAM will cover you for damage to your engine if some of that crap comes a drift & gets ingested.
Me thinks not.

For ANY price point.

Elmo370z 02-14-2017 11:28 PM

:gtfo2:wow what garbage.. 2 grand for a that trash.

Boss_302 02-15-2017 06:59 AM

Well Those are interesting photos that just proves the point that it's poorly manufactured. And what would worry me is if some of that casting flash breaks off and gets digested in the engine you can just kissed you engine good by.
If they had been smart when they design this they would have made it 2 pieces, with a removable cover which would have allowed you to get into the plenums and clean up the runners.
It's just a bad deal no matter how you look at.

Regardless of finish or anything, there is still no info on whether or not there are any gains which means there probably aren't.
