Eps, is doing testing both this abd rjm manifolds

chuckie311 01-19-2016 01:33 PM

My email with Michael at AAM

1. is it going to be a baseline Dyno with no tuning
2. would you do a dyno comparison against the stock vs Z1 vs VQ35HR manifold same day?
3.i might look in to this for the future as im going Cams heads and Stroker kit.
4. if you looking for someone to compare all those manifold same day same car i can do it..

5.i have a ported VQ35HR manifold a stock and ported stock..
i would be willing to leave a 2k deposit while the testing is being done..so im willing to eat the cost of dyno time and travel time to my tuner for testing..
All stock baseline numbers for dyno testing with 0 tuning done..

just throwing the above out there because we all know everyone is gonig to want to see independent dyno tesing
as well..

Thanks for your interest in our new AAM Competition Intake Manifold! I am sure we will do a baseline pull for a starting point, but we recommend tuning with any bolt on aftermarket performance upgrade to achieve the upgrades full potential and ensure the vehicle has adapted and running safely due to the changes.

We will be comparing our intake manifold against the stock oem unit, and measuring gains from there. We ourselves will not dyno compare against the Z1 as a general rule of business, but I am sure many will be willing to do so once our manifold hits the shelves.

You will see significant gains on vehicles with serious upgrades, forced induction, and higher displacement. Our IM will be perfect for you since you mentioned cams and stroker kit in the near future.

You are more than welcomed to put our Intake Manifold to the test against the other available options if you’d like! First units are expected to ship in March. I will keep you posted with updates concerning our IM. Contact me with any further questions/concerns you may have!

So basically what he is saying, is that if you don't plan to get serious with building your motor this unit isn't for you.

They are basically saying buy a $2,000 piece based on theory alone. Then build your car and hope all goes well.

Yeah i have to agree with you here, i can't pull the trigger unless i see proven numbers

Boss_302 01-21-2016 07:10 AM

I don't understand the logic here, Generally you build a prototype and test it, make your tweaks. Than advertise with performance spec's and sell. Maybe this is the engineer in me and having been in the hot rodding game for over 40 years, BUT, to me this takes balls trying to sell a 2K piece of equipment without performance testing. Yes this manifold is show candy, and is an alternative/advantage to running the plastic manifold for FI and have the safety of running higher pressure, but than again you just jamming air in this piece and that's were you increase in power is.
As for the other 80% of us with NA, we need performance numbers before we dump 2k, on an unknown, especially when you can find some gains out of the stock manifold with some careful porting.

Where are you (AAM) at in the development process of this intake manifold?

All this hype with no data or product sure makes it seem like you are taking money from pre-orders to initiate the manufacturing process :wtf2:

chuckie311 01-21-2016 11:09 AM

there first batch of manifolds arrive in March...thats when testing will take place

michaeld@aamc 01-21-2016 11:18 AM

Hey guys! I know many of you are anxiously awaiting the dyno numbers for our newest addition to the AAM Competition product line, as we are too!

I will surely update this thread with any updates I come across regarding the Intake Manifold, and answer all questions I can!

We posted the manifold to let our Nissan community know we continue to push the bar for fellow enthusiasts and the platforms we enjoy the most. As we strive and continue to produce the utmost quality products for our clients, for example our TT system, you can expect the same with our intake manifold!

Stay tuned folks!

He's ok. Nothing out of the ordinary for the business world. Interesting strategy to release pricing but not the dyno figures. I don't buy that they don't even have a prelim figures for a tested prototype.

Either he's gonna win big or this becomes a big joke. I hope for this delivers.

Looks like aam doesn't just hire anybody haha

EzDz 01-21-2016 08:57 PM

The dyno question would be #1. It also looks like a cast oem manifold

JYL 02-03-2016 02:05 PM

Wait for the dyno

ANMVQ 02-16-2016 11:01 AM

Nothing on this yet?
