$200 to bore them out to that is not a bad price. At least that's what I paid with a new shaft and screws

azza12311 12-19-2015 06:18 PM

Your Facebook says $749 . Really happy with the power . I will be ordering a set next year

I'm considering it

ANMVQ 01-08-2016 09:35 AM

I'm waiting for someone else to get these and dyno them. Plus I've been looking for NWP to come out with a set. The biggest thing that read was when they said "The only change was the TB's and A/F optimization" so retune. I'm sure you'll need one but would be nice to see a strait swap dyno. The sheet looked good with more power and TQ everywhere but want to see a "real" person dyno it , not their shop car :/

lj909 01-08-2016 09:38 AM

Yeah that's true. I've already got Ecuteck so well see what happens.

Elmo370z 01-08-2016 10:49 AM

John at z1 dyno with them and made gains across the board. Im just going off what they posted, so you could email john and find out more about them.I would buy, but i'm going to wait and see if a manifold will be created that will have bigger tb's.

hooey_b 01-08-2016 04:49 PM

Just to throw this out there:

2009 Maxima 75mm throttle bodies plug right into the harness, no conversion clips needed. You just need to fabricate adapter plates to fit.

I was looking at doing this, but pulled the trigger on getting the 63mm ported tb's. ($280).

on a side note, having bigger TBs is definitely a plus.

Just looked at the dyno chart. You gain across the whole rpm range. It would be a worthwhile mod.

1LIFE 01-10-2016 02:46 PM

Eyeballing these too, anxious to see what gains boosted guys will net

It depends on where your restriction is. If your restriction is on the exhaust side (cam) or turbine housing, it will not help much. If you improve the intake and exhaust side at the same time you boost (measurement of restriction) should decrease allowing you to add more fuel and increase power output.

Exactly, im currently running a 2.5" stillen exhaust.. Thinking with a 3", 70mm throttle bodies, and retune will net me close to 100wheel

Im just waiting on a company to figure out the magic screws

We put a good amount of time into sorting out these heads and how they work. As we feel that unless you fully understand how an entire engine works, you should not be taking customers money to build them.

With knowledge based on years of engine development (From VVL SR20s, to taking over and evolving Menards Spec VK56 CORR motors and VK45 based daytona prototype and indy lights engines), we developed tooling to inspect, measure, and re-build these heads back to factory spec or maxing out the available adjustment otherwise. The tolerances of all the VVEL components have to be set to a high degree of precision outside the scope of a hobbyist's feasible budget as far as specialized tooling goes. There are specialized fixtures to measure every single component. We have also determined exact wear tolerances for all of the associated components and have documented all of the manufacturing differences from nissan's evolution of the design.

With all that said, there are still some issues with making adjustments. While we have solutions for racing applications utilizing different engine control hardware, we aren't ready to invest into something that is likely unmarketable for a more street based consumer. Time will tell as more and more people have been contacting us for more high end engine builds not limiting themselves to just forced induction and leaving the heads alone.

The issue does not lie with figuring out the "magic screw" as we have that sorted out, the issues lie with the lack of being able to control the throttling of the engine with the throttle bodies. Using the VVEL to throttle the engine by controlling the lift as the OEM ECU does becomes an issue when you increase the minimum lift via the adjustment.

We are very excited about the future of these engines, and very excited about the development we have undergone here with the VVEL system in itself. As the future unfolds, we look forward to what projects present themselves to us as we always enjoy a good challenge!

$750 for 7hp/7tq? I realize that's peak, but IMO, I don't think it's worth it for me.

edit: Props to EPS for releasing a new product :tiphat:

Elmo370z 01-20-2016 05:17 PM

They will be testing the TB's with the aam manifold and rjm manifold soon as they get there hands on them

Carbon_z 01-21-2016 12:37 PM

are you changing anything out like butterflies or motor?

Elmo370z 01-21-2016 04:46 PM

Anybody have first hand dynos with these yet?

gbrettin 02-09-2016 03:59 PM

I'm purchasing the TB's but will not have my car on the dyno until mid may, just before Zdayz.
