i have been thinking about these since my intakes are bigger than others on the market aside from the aam ones that are 2.75" with the insert. 70mm = 2.756" so it makes sense right? |
Yeah, that math is right.
Anyone happen to know the diameter of the z1 intakes? Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |

they're always a bit secretive with their stuff lol |

Ahh piss, the inside diameter is 2.5" for the z1 intakes.

i'll measure my outside diamter just for reference but doesnt really matter since there's only 1 maybe 2 other people with my intakes lol |
Here is where I found the info:

I just installed my EPS Big Bore TB's and Z1 intakes and I gotta say that there is a noticeable difference with the butt dyno, maybe 15- 20hp with out a tune. The throttle response is snappy down low and I feel the power through the whole power range. My tuning software should be coming in the mail soon so I'm sure there is more on the table.
When I turbo my car down the road I will switch to a 3" intake and do something different with the upper and lower intake.... Never ending fun. lol All-in-all, I'm happy. I had to use a 3" to 2.5" Samco coupler to mate the TB and CAI. The size difference is comical (and makes me sad there is a new restriction). http://www.the370z.com/members/gbret...tbs-z1-cai.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/gbret...-cai-front.jpg |
ooooo purty

Very nice! I was so close to jumping in on these. Now i regret it.

some may have bought the 70mm TBs not thinking that their intakes are only 2.5" where 70mm translates to 2.75" there may be a connection issue even though its just a neck down with a coupler. that would be my first guess of a 1 day then for sale scenario. I could be wrong though. edit: maybe a MAF/tuning issue as well? should ask that guy. |
Quick question, I've been thinking about that new gtr manifold conversion. Are the throttles the same so these would bolt to a gtr mani as well?
|
you boosting?
|
I'm gonna get there. Planning BP kit
|
good investment. Watch the forced induction thread, fast intention tt kit, bullet has the lower conversion and gtr intake with these tbs. He will be posting results soon, hopefully.
|
SHould help you gauge weather or not its worth the investment.
|
Yeah I've been waiting. Highly interested.
I of course know that N/A isn't going to get much but i know that ultimately I'll have a turbo and it'll play out well. |
Indeed, im only looking to make 370-390whp until i upgrade to a dry sump, forged bottom end, and itbs

Need to do a idle relearn with them if not idling correctly. If you have ecutek/cable then it's easy just click the idle relearn icon done.
I've had them on my G37 for a few months I was a test car. No I do not have any dynos as of yet. I plan to do that soon, but it will not be a true before and after will be on the same dyno though. I just added JWT cams and changed out my ebay exhaust to a FI CF. Car has ran 12.7@109 car is 320/265 before cams and exhaust. |
I got out to the drag strip too. My best time previously was 13.3 and that was pretty much everything. This weekend I made two passes but had terrible burn outs both times and only got a 13.6 and a 13.3. The car felt like it could get high 12's with a good launch whereas previously 13.3 was about the best it had.
I was hoping to bring back an awesome slip but it is what it is. The track was packed and I got there late. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk |
Nice!! I've learned you have to get to the track when it opens the gates to get in runs. Especially if it's a busy track.
Hoping to hit the track Friday or Sat. My friend just did 12.6 again in his FBO non tuned 7AT 370z on Sunday. |
I'm interested in these, but I need to think out loud here. Even if you get bigger throttle bodies, would your stock intake holes where the throttle bodies bolt to not still be a bottle neck?
|
Yes, there still is a bottle neck with the manifold but the larger TB's will create more air velocity.
Edit - The TB's come with a billet aluminum adapter plate that tappers into the stock upper manifold. |
Hey Guys , those are my Eps throttles on FB and myG37 , I had a hard time getting them to relearn the idle idk what I did wrong if anything at all , my car is an 08 with uprev software . I contact Jeff or Jake ( I forget ) from eps And he told me I need to change some settings in my time before the car would learn to idle . My tuner gave me the run around and this is my daily so i cleaned my stock throttles ( never did before) And it ran so smooth and much better than before so I decided I should leave it alone . I have full bolt ons so idk if that affects anything , at the same time I added blox velocity stack 3" filters , eps did mention something about air velocity idk . I have takeda intakes, m370 manifold , exotic speed headers , kinetix hfc , garage line x pipe mid pipe( custom fitted ) , Megan axle back , z1 clutch fW combo , 4.08 gears .... Sorry for the wall of txt EPS throttles still available btw
