Thinking out side the box 370z SINGLE TIP EXHAUST

OK so Robispec is partnering with a customer to build a 370z..for redline time atack Starting with the stock class and developing time attack wining parts over the next 3 years(the 370 will stop at the mod class in 2011). This is one of the starting parts..this is the exit of a true 3" mandrel bent catback exhaust. We went with this design as the 3" flow dynamics will support 600+ hp and we are thinking ahead to the diffuser we will be building...all the current exhaut systems out there were right in the way of the "tunnels" we will be developing. I would love to hear your comments, oh the lowest part of this exhaust is 2" higher than the stock pipes.

Nice to finally see the option arise for a single-exhaust setup.

Although strictly in terms of aesthetics, I think most would agree that a dual-tip arrangement would look the best for center-exit exhaust. Very interested to see what you guys will come up with for a diffuser, too.

thanks for your input as you can see there is not a lot of space for "extra tips". Here are two picts of the central diffuser "keel" muffler cover in dry carbon.

rear

This will be added too going towards the side...as you can see there is now a huge gulf where all the exhaust parts went. This will allow us to get the roof of the tunnels as high as possible(= greater effect)adjacent to the keel.

this will balance the front splitter

without resorting to drag inducing wings and canards yet. (still looking working on HP options).

also a functional harness attachment point adds 0.5 lbs to the car and has over 18,000 lbs in deflection resistance(not yield just movement) amazing what a large diameter thin wall tube can do.

I am very interested in seeing what the finished car will look and perform like. Functionality is dead sexy.

thanks! looks like a nice community...the car is currently 3010 lbs with 1/4 tank of fuel (BBK,racing seats, exhaust, associated SWADN....)

wheels are 9.5x18 front 10.5x18 rear with 265/285 ado8's.....
Suspension is a "worked" set of KW v3's with straight rate racing springs front and rear...

can we get a walkaround video with u revving a little or taking off pls! im really curious as to how this sounds. i like the look of the double better, but props to being different. and the addition of a cool rear diffuser might make me change my mind on looks. great job guys

What is the advantage of the single over the dual besides less weight?

More power in the upper-RPM range as well as an intoxicating exhaust-note. :)
