Tomei muffler or Motordyne catback?

I'm undecided on which exhaust to get for the Z... Would love to know what your opinions are on both. I'd like to know the db range at what rpm,

Default Tomei muffler or Motordyne catback?

I'm undecided on which exhaust to get for the Z... Would love to know what your opinions are on both. I'd like to know the db range at what rpm, any issues involving the two such as ground clearance or fitment.

I'm dying for a new exhaust because the stock one is just a little too quiet...

Well. The 370z Tomei exhaust will be LOUD. It will also hang very low so you will have to deal with that (I fixed mine by hose clamping it upwards). The Motordyne will be more tame but still have a good tone to it. It would be like comparing and single exit exhaust with a dual one really.

To touch on the Db range. I know that my Tomei cold start with no silencer (Res TP and Tomei y-pipe) is well above the 120 Db range. At about 3k RPM, if you step on it, is when you get the blaring trumpet like noise of the VQ.

i also was debating between the 2 exhaust.. except i didnt care about the db level.. but clearance is a big issue for me.. both exhaust is quality fitment and sounds awesome from all the threads ive seen.. but tomei does does seem to hang alil tooo low.. i believe there was a thread on it somewhere about it.

I have installed the old z33 version, currently on my car, and the new z34 version, currently on 2 good friends car. Only helped one of the friends, other did it at his place. The z33 versions does hang super low uless you are willing to do some grinding and bending of support pieces which I didn't want to do to the car. The z34 version does hang noticeably higher than the 33. My friend was running the F/I system and made the switch and said it doesn't hang much lower than the F/I.

That's weird... Although, I had my Z33 version on without the bracebar so no grinding and it seemed to hang noticablly higher than the Z34 version.

It will if you grind, bend, or remove things. But none of which I wanted to do. It will clear everything by just the thickness of a sheet of paper and sit perfectly in the bumper.

How loud is the tomei muffler at cruising speed? 62mph and 37mph?

So this is the Z33 on the Z34 right? Does the Tomei for the Z34 sit noticeably higher?

Not sure on dB but it's effing loud w/o silencer when you're cruising at anything above 3k rpm. It's definitely not wife or gf friendly.

Note: This is with full catback and test pipes. Not sure of noise levels w/ stock cats.

Easily an inch higher if not more was less aggressive angle. My friend went to the Z34 and said it sits just as high as his old Fast intentions setup.
