im on the list! Cant wait to install this. lets go tier 3!
Good news everybody!
By popular request, we are offering a third option to our financing programs. We are proud to introduce our layaway plan so people have another way to purchase our products. This will be a third option for people that want to pay for the kit over the course of a year without paying any interest. The biggest advantage of this offering is the ability to lock in the group buy price with the layaway plan. Even though you can pay off the kit over the course of a year, it will be for the group buy price as opposed to full retail. So, let’s say that we reach Tier 3 pricing, you will need to put 30% down to lock in the price and may take up to a year to pay off the kit. |
cool. thats awesome you guys offer this kind of stuff. its hard for most people to spend 5-6 thousand dollars all at once.
Please Put me on the list for the turn-key kit. Since I am new to FI, why would you go with 16g (less HP) than 20g ? What else are missing with the turn-key kit (oil cooler, turbo timer, spark plugs, ...). Is 16g safer to run than 20g ?

The 16g kit is the fastest responding kit built for the the stock block (+/-500hp), the 18g's are slightly less responsive as the 16g (due to more mass to spin) but more breathing room in the upper power band (due to bigger size), good for more available power than the stock block could handle (700hp) if one so chooses to upgrade block internals in their future but still usable on stock block with the correct tune (the kit I picked), the 20g(biggest turbos of the kits) requires built block for big power numbers (900hp). With any FI kit your gonna want get a big oil cooler, not included in the MHI tt kit. I don't think spark plugs are included but one step colder or gtr plugs shouldn't hurt. Also missing boost gauge and a wideband gauge.
Any one please correct me if Iam wrong.:tiphat: |
I'm going with the 18g kit (rated for up to 700hp). The reason is because it will allow me room to grow if I decide. The 16g is for someone who only wants to go as far the stock block can handle. The 20g is for someone who wants to go big...a lot more involved then just a few simple upgrades.
Also you are correct about the missing items. You will need to buy an oil cooler---$200-$650, the gauges----around $900 for them and the spark plugs will be around----$25-$30 each. You may also look into upgrading you clutch, if you have a manual and a new exhaust system. Don't get me wrong I was told the system will work just fine with the stock exhaust but a 3" exhaust wouldn't hurt. |
I think the stock clutch should last a little while if your a driver who doesn't abuse your clutch, but if you do then a clutch is a must, I also think a 2.5" dual high flow performance exhaust is minimum requirement.
A 3" is also not needed unless your going for high HP numbers
I just wonder where can I mount the oil cooler? This kit does not require to remove the crash bar so both intercooler will be behind it and that is where the oil cooler usually mounted. Can I keep my stock clutch for a while before an upgrade? For thr gauges, which are the must have? Anyone going to install this k8t with jack stand?
There's room on the passenger side of the intercooler for an oil cooler... Ebay should be fine..

Subscribed for now... I need to take the time to read all of the threads with the technical details (e.g. oil cooler compatibility) that Mike@GTM mentioned in the first post. Holy smokes there's a lot!
Just out of curiosity, for any of the financing options, are there any penalties if one is able to pay if off early? |
I am interested need to read into it more and talk to the wife hopefully I can convince her
Sometimes it's better to ask forgiveness than permission! J/K I did that with my wheels and to this day I still can't hear the end of it.
Hang in there Nismo370z, I talked my wife into it but it was a longggg.....talk and a lot of promises :) but what important is I got what I wanted :) I will be joining the list soon, just need to verify couples addtional parts with the kit. Good luck
Anyone know if I order addition parts like oil cooler, spark plugs, gauges...will GTM ship them long with the kit or they will be ship separately.

GTM does not have the closing and start shipping date for kit yet so I am just gonna wait and order the oil cooler, spark plugs later along with the kit. I am going go install them along with the kit so no point for me to order them now. Soo....exciting. ..:yum:
add me to the list
Pmed, waiting to be on the list:tup:
What kind of spark plugs are you guys running?
