Just trying to see how many people would be interested in participating in a group buy for these intakes. Im sure if we have enought committed people post up then we could get something going on. Input please :hello:

Stillen G3 intakes for the 370z?

spearfish25 08-31-2010 09:55 AM

Gen IIIs don't fit the Nismo. End of group buy proposal.

ZedZed 08-31-2010 10:20 AM

Hilarious :inoutroflpuke:

Mythic 08-31-2010 10:35 AM

I learn something new every day, can anyone elaborate? I didn't know there were any difference under the hood of a base vs nismo...

that is false guys. G3s will fit a Nismo. I have them on mine and have pictures of them installed in my album to prove it. Just bc stillen says they won't doesnt mean its true... as a matter of fact alot of the time what stillen says is false

It's not that we said they wouldn't fit, it's we didn't provide instructions for a bolt-on fitment, which we do for our products. The installation for a Nismo is slightly different, as you've no doubt experienced.

Also, we hadn't had time to test the Gen 3's on a Nismo, which has additional air diversion panels due to the longer fascia, and weren't willing to put customers in a potential problem situation if the install affected high speed cooling in track environments, etc.

We've since had quite a few customers go through with the install on their own, and everything looks fine. When our engineers have a second, we'll bring a car in and wrap up the installation instructions to include the Nismo.

So the group buy could still be possible, im willing to go for it on my nismo, ive done much harder things with much less to work with. Post up if your in :)

ClemsonWill 08-31-2010 01:30 PM

Depending on the deal, I'm in. Let me know if and when you all get something together.

I'm interested too. On Stillen's web site it said 'CARB approval pending', what is the status on this? It would be nice not to have any issues with the smog police.

Wow moody afb, I'm from Echols county, acutally grew up around Valdosta ;)

Anybody in just add your name to the list, and you won't be giving $ to any members, if a vendor agrees to give us a group buy price, you'll just pay them directly as normal, just with the limited lower price...

These intakes are being put on special for the beginning half of September, due to requests like yours for a group purchase. We have ramped production to attempt to reduce cost with the level of interest.

Please first off keep in mind that these are not inexpensive items to product, for all accounts this is 2 full cold-air intakes, and we've done everything we can from day 1 to keep the cost as low as possible.. Normal single cold air intakes go for 300-350, this is 2!

Normal price is $549, recently we had them at $522, and we've gotten the price down to $499 for a limited time, the lowest we've ever had them on sale for.

For the the370Z.com guys, I've worked out a deal to include product at no charge, in the form of a STILLEN Grounding Kit, which retails on sale for $90. Just mention the 370Z group buy in the notes field as you place your order, or feel free to call in at 866-250-5542 to talk to one of our sales reps, or your favorite STILLEN authorized dealer or dealership.

Gen 3 Product Page: STILLEN : STILLEN Generation 3 Ultra Long Tube Dual Intake Kit

Grounding Kit Info: STILLEN : STILLEN Grounding Kit

The pricing on the website should change later this afternoon, as we launch the new specials.

Looking forward to hearing the feedback and seeing the installs!

Josh@STILLEN 09-01-2010 01:50 PM

Note that includes free shipping to the 48 states ($9.95 to cover insurance and handling on the entire order)..

Please inquire for other shipping costs outside of the 48 states..

atx370z 09-01-2010 02:39 PM

Way to step up Josh and provide these guys with one hell of a deal!!!

I totally understand the fact that $499 is a steal for these intakes and you obviously can't LOSE money to do a group buy, otherwise it totally defeats the purpose of being in business.

Stillen gets 2 HUUUGE thumbs up from me.

PS. i ordered the Stillen exhaust and Stillen Gen3 intakes last night... not from stillen.com though :ughdance:
