Don't want to continue going off topic but what is wrong with the Specialty Z clutch? Isn't this clutch been use by quite a few guys that have the Fast Intentions TT kit with no issues or did i miss something?

I sure hope my kit holds up!! I'm having a hell of a time just trying to drop my trans for the install. My funds are up so I have to install everything. But then again, that was my original plan.

Good luck if you have a problem. They'll blame it on your installer. My build thread has the whole story. Because I went with specialty z I ended up spending an extra $1500 and I was without my car for an extra three weeks. Go with z1 or Zspeed.

Nothing is wrong with the flywheel...he got one that's was warped and it took awhile for them to figure out what was wrong with it. It was replaced by the manufacture. I have the same flywheel of warped one he got, SZ Street Max, with 13K miles FI on mine with no issues. I have not heard of any other problems with SpecialtyZ's flywheel systems. They are rock solid and there a number of people running the 6 puck at over 550 ft/lbs/tq.

Chuck33079 01-13-2015 07:17 PM

Specialty z didn't replace anything. We had to go around them to RPS, the actual maker of the clutch. He overnights a new disk no questions asked, which he wouldn't have done if it was installer error. At that point specialty z blamed it all on my installer and withdrew their offer to help out with labor costs even though it was a defective product. They were very helpful until it came out that the disk was defective.

"We had to go around them to RPS, the actual maker of the clutch."

Yup, I thought that is what I said but in different words. The only point I am speaking to is the quality of the clutch and flywheel system. What happened between you and SZ is between you two. I have no dog in that fight!

Now let's give BP fans back their thread....sorry for the diversion!

Agreed. Great product, crap vendor. Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I don't want to play Devil's advocate here, but I thought they had pretty good customer service. When I did my install (6 puck disc), everything went pretty smooth... until I went to bleed the clutch. I had a leak right behind the crimp of the stainless steel braided line that came with the kit (defect, Sh!t happens). Notified them about the leaky crimp and BAM, new hose was getting express shipped to me free of any charges and duties, no question asked. Didn't have an issue after that. Sorry to hear you had issues with them. Maybe their customer service department changed?

But back on track tho, any V1.5 kits left Sasha? Still didn't get a price on that V1.5 upgrade

Sasha, you should consider making a custom turbo back exhaust that would perfectly go with this kit. Also give people different options for different exhaust cans.

I have looked at a very nice dual 2.5" titanium exhaust when I was at SEMA. I would have to order 5 complete exhausts, and as you can imagine they are not cheap. I would be able to sell these at around $2,900 or so, including shipping and paypal. It is an exhaust that would bolt up to the OEM Y-pipe as well. It is very light, at around 25lbs total. Not sure if there would even be any interest in that.

I don't think I have time to really built a complete custom exhaust. I guess I could build one, and then outsource the manufacturing of it. Maybe down the road..but it is a tough market, as there is already a lot of options for customers. Most already have something after market already.

Sorry, I do not have up to date electronic instructions. You can have a look at the V 2.0 build thread and it will give you a very good idea of the plumbing. As for the rest, you can have a look at the original V 1.0 version for a good idea on the rest.

Well, it is almost time to start shipping these kits. I am in Atlanta this week for work, but before leaving I did manage to get a lot of work done. Just need to finish up the recirc tubes...about a days worth of work. If all goes well and as planed, the first kits should be going out the first week of February.

Sasha, does that also go for the people who bought 3" charge pipes as well?
