Could be a lot of reasons. Weather conditions, dyno used, type of exhaust (true-duel, y-pipe, etc.) and most importantly the tuner performing the tuning. Some tuners are more conservative with their timing and that will have a dramatic impact on HP numbers.

also some people ask for the car to be tuned certain ways. some want max power as I would and some just want a little extra.

Also I would add the fuel system (injectors, fuel pump, rails, return lines, etc) and type of fuel used (91, 93, E85, etc) have a great impact on HP numbers - and in my case, the compression ratio of the motor.

There are so many variables that change the final outcome, I'm still learning new things everyday!

The fuel is a big one, one reason I started adding it to the finished builds thread because people with much lower boost were hitting high numbers but were on e85. Helps show a better perspective into how someone reached it.

Fuel is everything for a high powered tune. This is why E85 is a dyno killer. I'm lucky to have 93 octane in my area, but would love a E85 pump.

Someone once told me, "if I want more power i'll do a shell 104 octane tune".

Replied, "Yea try taking the tune out of town tell me how that works out lol".

I want a tune for the average pump. Hunting down $7 gallon fuel with limited places to fuel isn't my idea of a weekend warrior. IMO, That's more like a dyno queen that drives his car to event once a month.

Has there been any reported issues with running e85? Either with the tune, longevity, or overall performance? Just did some research and looks to be very cheap to do, and I have ONE station that has it about 5 minutes from my house. Super intriguing with the ridiculous numbers people seem to be getting with it!!

Power is power.

Good friend of mine made 510awhp in his 911. He expected a lot more, but when you pulling busses on a 600whp z06. Does that dyno even matter? I would think not lol.

11 PSI tune on a VQ37HR is power. Whether it's 500whp or 600whp. Only thing dyno is truly used for it making sure you have all the tools you need to make adjustments for clean pulls. Numbers can be so irrelevant it's all about tune and health of the engine.

Even I get caught up in the number game, but end of the day all I care about is healthy power.
