It depends on what you want to do. Technically it's best to save as much as you can. I tried to look for deals for various things like gauges and whatnot, so that's stuff I could purchase and pay off. For the actual kit, the shop ordered it and the rest of the accessories just to save on shipping.

I'm just over 10k with the VSR single setup, oil cooler, boost/afr gauge, and exhaust. There's other things I want but don't necessarily have to have at this moment. All depends on goals as well. But it's definitely a good idea to knock* as much out as you can at first rather than later.

You can still save in some areas to help with costs. Clutch doesn't need to be upgraded it will hold for awhile same goes with the differential. You only really need 2 gauges imo AFR and boost. A used Nismo (not the S tune) Exhaust can be had for cheap and will do good enough. Troll around on the Parts for Sale page and you can get some good deals on like new to slightly used parts.

You can also try to plan your install for the winter usually shops are less busy and more willing to cut a better hourly rate maybe.

Scratch all that, do some basic mods, get a helmet, sign up for a local car club and have some fun on the track. 300whp is plenty of fun and excitement if you never have.

That's also true. I'm not much of a racer. Half throttle in 3rd or 4th is enough to get boost without speeding or driving recklessly. It feels so good, and it's enough to intimidate my surroundings. No need to race either. :)

I do frequent track days, I say once every other month or so but I just want something a bit more fun on the straight (I say on bumpywillow or big or even the great oval)

i was quoted 1200 to install a bp system, i ended up doing it myself

there are a lot of cost besides the fi that you need to consider

gauges, tune, clutch/flywheel, oil cooler if it doesnt come with kit etc etc

figure outside the kit there is another 5-7k- in costs associated with the kit that are not part of the kit

I would call some shops and just ask the questions if they are solid businesses, they will give you some straight up numbers. I would highly recommend you call Sebastian at SpecialtyZ (It's in Chatsworth). He can help you with a lot of your decision as long as you have an idea of what your goals are. Seb did the install on both mine and Nixlimited's cars and mine has run perfectly since I pick it up six months ago!!!

I spent total on all , Oil cooler, trans cooler upgraded heat exchanger all the bells and whistles close to 13k

:iagree:

I'm probably about $13.5k in and I installed everything myself except the clutch/flywheel ($600 labor). Granted I already had a CBE. Price includes custom tune also.
